Disasters don’t wait and hit when it’s convenient. They don’t care if you’re miles from your car, halfway through a hike, or just grabbing lunch with nothing on you but your wallet and phone. Whether it’s an earthquake, a sudden storm, or some other emergency, your bug out bag won’t do you much good when all you have is whatever’s in your pockets. That’s the idea behind the survival keychain. It’s a collection of small, lightweight tools you can carry with you wherever you go. Obviously, it’s no substitute for a bug out bag, but it makes a great backup when nothing else is available. I recently came across a video on the Youtube channel, Iridium242, where he shows off his survival keychain and explains what tools it includes and why. You can watch it below, but I also typed up everything in his list and included a few ideas of my own at the end. Want to save this post for later? Click Here to Pin It On Pinterest! 1. Compact Rechargeable Flashlight The light featured in the video is the Olight i1R EOS, a tiny keychain-sized flashlight with two brightness settings: low and high. It comes with a…

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles! As America marks its 250th anniversary next month, the nation finds itself in a moment of deep civic uncertainty. Americans sense that something essential is slipping away — a shared understanding of who we are and what we stand for.Our universities now debate whether equality is a universal truth or merely a product of its time. Public institutions hesitate to defend the natural‑rights philosophy that justified the American Revolution. Even the idea of a common national creed feels fragile.Yet amid this cultural confusion, one Supreme Court justice has spent more than three decades insisting that the Declaration of Independence still means exactly what it says — and that the country cannot survive without its moral framework.PROTECTING THE DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE IN OUR 250TH YEARJustice Clarence Thomas, now the Court’s second‑longest‑serving member, has long argued that the Declaration is not ceremonial rhetoric. It is the republic’s foundational statement of political principle. That view may be unfashionable in elite institutions, but it is exactly how the Founders understood the document.Thomas Jefferson called the Declaration “an expression of the American mind.” Abraham Lincoln famously described it as the “apple of gold,” with the Constitution serving…

Eric Schmitt, R-Mo., described his history with the glove that made a thrilling catch at the annual congressional baseball game Wednesday night.”I have had this for a long time,” Schimitt told the Ruthless podcast on Thursday. “In fact, it was the summer after my freshman year in high school. I mowed lawns all summer to save up to buy this glove. I remember it was like a Rawlings outlet store in Branson, Missouri. We were on vacation, and I bought this glove and had it in high school and college.”He continued, “When I started this thing, I got it restrung at Play It Again Sports for $40 or whatever it was. And so, yeah, I’ve had the glove for a long time.”STEVE SCALISE GIVES HARROWING RETROSPECTIVE INTO CONGRESSIONAL BASEBALL SHOOTING: ‘I WAS STARTING TO FADE’ Schmitt went viral Wednesday night after making a diving catch in left field at the bottom of the third inning. The Senate Armed Services Committee voted this week to advance legislation that would rename the Department of Defense to Department of War, moving the proposal one step closer to law.The name change is included in the committee’s version of the fiscal year 2027 National Defense Authorization Act, Sen. Tim Kaine, D-Va., said in a Thursday statement, explaining why he chose to vote against the bill’s advancement.Kaine criticized the proposed renaming and additional funding for what he called the “illegal and foolish” war in the Middle East.“Rather than taking steps to end this deeply unpopular war, this bill rebrands the Department of Defense as the Department of War, a juvenile move that sadly describes the reality of a President who has abandoned meaningful diplomacy in favor of starting doubtful wars in multiple locations and threatening even more,” he said in the statement.Though the Department of War and Secretary of War titles have not yet been legally established by Congress, the terms have been used by Pentagon and federal government officials as a secondary title since President Donald Trump’s September 2025 executive order declaring the reversal. The Department of Defense was known as the War Department from its creation in 1789 until 1947,…

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles! Chicago Bears legend Brian Urlacher is not happy about his team leaving Soldier Field.”I don’t like them leaving Soldier Field,” Urlacher told Fox News Digital. “I can’t picture them playing anywhere. It doesn’t matter if it’s Indiana or somewhere in Illinois, I can’t picture them leaving Soldier Field.”Urlacher placed blame on Democratic leaders in Chicago and Illinois for the planned relocation to Hammond, Indiana. This year, Illinois lawmakers failed to pass legislation providing the property tax certainty and public infrastructure funding the team required to build a new stadium. “I just don’t see how as a state, legislator, governor, city mayor, how you can let this team leave the state of Illinois, or even be a topic of discussion,” Urlacher said. “You do what you have to do to keep the Bears there.”The NFL Hall of Famer is particularly bothered by the lack of legislation to keep the Bears amid the state’s sanctuary policies that offer taxpayer-funded resources to illegal immigrants.”You look at all the money they’ve given to illegal immigrants and the money they’ve set aside for that, it’s like $2.5, $3 billion that they’ve spent on the illegal immigrants. That…

Two U.S. Air Force air commandos completed a rigorous mountain warfare school in Argentina, becoming the first to do so in the service’s history. The airmen from the 492nd Special Operations Wing and 919th Special Operations Wing graduated recently from the Escuela Militar de Montaña in Bariloche, Argentina, according to a release. The school is set in Patagonia’s rough terrain and is intended to push students to their physical and mental limits.“Nothing compared to the level of mountaineering we would endure during this course,” the 919th SOW airman said in the statement. “They took what I had previously considered intense hiking and went vertical. While I had some experience, this school introduced an entirely new element: multi-pitch rock climbing.” The air commandos’ curriculum centered around high-altitude operations, cold-weather survival and mountainous landscape movements, per the release. Over the course of several weeks, the airmen mastered advanced rock climbing, rope safety techniques and the use of single-rope bridges to cross mountain rivers. The airmen successfully trained alongside members of the Argentine military, bolstering the relationship between the U.S. and Argentina and leading to one airmen earning the votes of their classmates for the “Best Teammate Award.”Both air commandos also completed the school’s instructor…

Work Sharp brought its latest modular everyday carry piece to Blade Show last weekend. It’s called the Madrone, and like its predecessor it can swap between manual and automatic deployment mechanisms. Most obviously think of Work Sharp first and foremost as a manufacturer of sharpening systems – y’know, the thing that makes knives sharp rather than the knives themselves. But there were signs even as far back as 2022 that they had their eye on the folding knife market, when they released a limited edition, high performance version of the Benchmade Bugout. Then, last year, they made a splash – and won awards – at Blade Show with the RMX, their first in-house folder design, which nabbed Most Innovative Imported Design in Atlanta. A peek at the spine of the Madrone’s single piece handle Now the company is capitalizing on that momentum with the Madrone, a new knife that borrows not only the mechanical flourishes of its predecessor but its clean, rugged look as well. The Madrone’s M390 clip point blade measures 3.25 inches long, so it has the wingspan and edge retention for long bouts of cutting chores whether it’s being deployed manually or automatically – because yes, this…

President Donald Trump on Thursday threatened to seize Kharg Island — the linchpin of Iran’s oil industry — as he escalated pressure on Tehran amid a fraying ceasefire. In a post on Truth Social, the president wrote the United States would be hitting Iran “VERY HARD TONIGHT,” adding that “at some point in the not too distant future, we will be taking Kharg Island, and other oil infrastructure points, and assume total control of their Oil and Gas Markets.”Kharg Island, located in the Persian Gulf, typically handles roughly 90% of Iran’s crude oil exports. It has been central to the economic survival of the Islamic Republic for decades. A 1984 declassified CIA document called its facilities “the most vital in Iran’s oil system, and their continued operation is essential to Iran’s economic well-being.” But Trump’s saber-rattling was quickly tempered by a note of caution. Speaking to the hosts of “Fox & Friends” shortly after his social media post, the president questioned whether America “has the stomach” for a larger military operation to take the island.“I’m not sure the country has the appetite for it, as good as it is,” he said. “I think they’d like to see us come home.”The White…

The Democratic Republic of Congo’s Ebola outbreak has just spread to a new health zone. The outbreak has now made its way into the northeastern province of Ituri, authorities said on Wednesday. A health zone in Congo’s healthcare system covers a defined area with a network of clinics and a referral hospital. More than three weeks after the epidemic was declared, these new infections in a new area are “undermining” the ability to prevent the transmission of this Bundibugyo strain of the Ebola virus. The health ministry said Tchomia, about 50 kilometers south of the provincial capital Bunia on the shores of Lake Albert, has become the latest affected health zone, bringing the total number of affected zones to 26 nationwide and 18 in Ituri province, which accounts for more than 94% of confirmed cases. –Reuters The government said that the latest situation report confirmed 37 new cases, including 12 deaths. These were reported in the previous 24 hours, ‌all in Ituri. The outbreak has so far recorded 635 confirmed cases and 127 deaths across three eastern provinces. This outbreak was declared on May 15th, and so far, there is no approved vaccine for the Bundibugyo strain of Ebola. Some…

With America 250 right around the corner, the celebration of our nation’s big day is sure to be a big one.The festivities will vary greatly, but one of the most talked about events is the UFC Freedom 250 card happening on the White House lawn on Sunday. Fox News’ own Sean Hannity sat down with UFC star Bo Nickal on his “Hang Out with Sean Hannity” show to discuss the day, as well as his rocket to stardom and a bevy of other topics. One topic the two touched on in particular was the growing epidemic of “lost boys” that is plaguing the youth of America and how it seems to lead to a destructive path for many young men around the country.UFC SAYS IT WON’T PROFIT FROM WHITE HOUSE EVENT THAT COULD COST ‘UPWARDS OF $60M’Hannity asked Nickal directly what his advice to young men who are in desperate need of role models would be, and the young fighter provided some surprisingly grounded words of wisdom.”They’re trying to fill a hole that’s not going to be filled with the things that they want,” Nickal explained. “Drinking, drugs, sex, money, fame … and…

A 28th annual wreath-laying ceremony honoring women troops at a memorial outside Arlington National Cemetery was canceled earlier this month after organizers got word that multiple military services would not participate, with one citing Pentagon and White House guidance prohibiting “events related to cultural awareness months” and DEI programs. The cancellation, first reported by Task and Purpose, was announced Wednesday by leaders of the Bipartisan Women’s Caucus in a press conference outside the U.S. Capitol. Multiple Democratic lawmakers decried the circumstances, saying it was more evidence of attempts by the administration and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth to minimize the service of female veterans.“In plain terms, the very women the ceremony was created to honor were pushed out of it,” Rep. Emilia Sykes, D-Ohio, the caucus co-chair and vice chair of the Democratic Women’s Caucus, said. “Honoring veterans should not be controversial. Recognizing the service and sacrifice of women who wore our nation’s uniform should be one of the easiest things for us to come together around. Yet, because of the decisions made by this administration, we are defending the basic act of honoring women veterans.”A staffer for the Democratic Women’s Caucus told Military Times that the wreath-laying had been canceled June…
