Susan Collins is well aware of the tough path ahead as she officially kicks off her 2026 re-election campaign in blue-leaning Maine.Collins is the top target for Senate Democrats as they try to win back the chamber’s majority in November’s midterm elections.”Chuck Schumer has made me once again — this is the third time he’s done this — his number one target,” Collins said in an interview with Fox News Digital soon after she announced her re-election bid, as she pointed to the longtime top Democrat in the Senate.Collins took to social media a couple of hours earlier to declare, “GOOD NEWS! I am ALL-IN for 2026.”LONGTIME REPUBLICAN SENATOR MAKES A MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT Democrats have long targeted the 73-year-old Collins, who was first elected to the Senate three decades ago, but keep coming up short.”I will be outspent as I was in 2020, but fortunately, Maine people are famously independent. They look at the individual candidates, and they don’t just necessarily vote a party line,” the senator said.Collins was one of the Senate Republicans who voted to convict after the House impeached President Donald Trump in 2021, following the Jan.…

As the Chinese People’s Liberation Army edges toward its goal of invading Taiwan by 2027, experts argue that Washington must reexamine a long-standing U.S.-Japan blueprint that aims to shift nearly 10,000 Marines away from Okinawa. The Defense Policy Review Initiative (DPRI) — intended to make the U.S. military presence less burdensome for the island’s residents — will instead dangerously weaken deterrence against Beijing, according to a report for the Atlantic Council from Lt. Col. Caleb Eames, a senior Marine Corps fellow, and Amy Cowley, an assistant director at the council’s Forward Defense program. The time for the U.S. to adjust its posture is now, they write. The Pentagon has shown a willingness to dismantle entrenched programs and the Trump administration’s tariff policies have created leverage to agree to new terms with the Japanese government.“Washington has a window of opportunity to rework old DPRI agreements in a new, substantial way,” Eames and Cowley argue.Under the plan as it stands, the U.S. and Japan agreed to move 5,000 Marines and 1,300 dependents from Okinawa to Guam; 2,700 Marines and 2,000 dependents to Hawaii; 1,300 Marines to Australia; and 800 Marines to locations in the continental U.S. The first tranche of 100 troops, however, only…

Cuoco went on to say that she underwent the cosmetic procedure days before filming “a scene where I have to like really do this thing with my face.”‘BIG BANG THEORY’ STAR KALEY CUOCO SHUTS DOWN PARENTING CRITICS”I could not move [it],” she admitted. “The fact that no one said anything — they probably were thinking it —  I couldn’t believe how bad it looked. I was like, ‘Kaley.’ I was like literally doing these jokes and nothing moved. My forehead didn’t move and it looked like I was trying to move it.””And that’s when I thought, ‘Whoa..let’s calm it down,’” she added. “So I reined it in and now I don’t…

From a financial perspective, each Seahawks player will take home $178,000—payment for that particular game. Now, given that the Super Bowl was played in California—and the players earned money playing in the game— it’s reasonable for the state of California to tax that specific income. But that’s not the way California looks at it. Instead, the state will go back in time, all the way to the start of the NFL season in September, and take their ‘fair share’ of the players’ ENTIRE salaries over the entire season. This is what’s known as the state’s “jock tax,” in which they tax non-resident professional athletes based on the number of “duty days” they spend in the state—traveling, practicing, attending meetings, or playing in a game. Both teams arrived in California last Sunday, so each player will log…

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles! The Justice Department is signaling a broader use of federal civil rights law against protesters accused of disrupting religious worship, with officials pointing to synagogue cases as a model for future enforcement.Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon, who leads the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division, said the department has applied the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act — a law historically associated with abortion clinic protests — to cases involving disruptions at Jewish houses of worship.”It was our pioneering application of the FACE Act to defend Jewish synagogues that paved the way for its use to defend churches,” Dhillon said during remarks at an antisemitism and extremism conference at George Washington University Tuesday, describing the enforcement approach as a way to draw clear legal lines between protected speech and unlawful conduct. The FACE Act makes it a federal offense to use force, threats of force or physical obstruction to intentionally interfere with individuals because they are exercising their right to religious worship or to an abortion. Dhillon said the statute allows federal authorities to intervene when protests cross into obstruction, intimidation or trespass at places of worship. FEDERAL AGENTS ARREST 2 MORE…

Powder River Precision (PRP) has built its reputation largely on its interpretation of the patent-expired 10/22 receiver. Fine machining, close tolerances, premium materials and repositioning of the guide rod atop the receiver rather than along the side (called Top Line technology) has made the receiver an object of lust for anyone doing a custom 10/22 build. The Rubicon receiver is fabricated from 6061 barstock aluminum. The bolt is made from barstock stainless steel. The gun incorporates a cylindrical firing pin, and PRP takes pride in the fact the extractor is wire-EDM cut instead of merely being stamped. Similarly, the control parts are EDM cut, as well. An aluminum V-block attachment system is incorporated to protect barrel/receiver interface, according to the company. The Icon version of PRP’s Rubicon adds a 15-MOA-canted Picatinny rail for long-range accuracy. Now PRP is offering a custom build created around the company’s Rubicon Icon receiver. It has a Briley Raptor 16.5-inch Ultra-lightweight fluted .22 LR barrel with a threaded muzzle, and a Hogue OverMolded stock in black or Ghillie green. What PRP has done, essentially, is assemble an all-star team of Steel Challenge components. With a Type 3 hardcoat-anodized aluminum sleeve, the barrel weighs a mere…

This article was originally published by J.W. Rich at The Mises Institute.  The age of social media has made it easier than ever to spread misconceptions and misdirection. Bad arguments seemingly go through seasons like the flu. One idea currently in season is that artificial intelligence is uniquely damaging to the environment. Accusations abound against AI’s impact on our environment, emanating both from popular consciousness and academic institutions. These claims vastly overstate the negative impacts of AI. Below are three popular arguments and how they misunderstand the economics behind our relationship to the environment. Argument 1: AI Uses Excessive Resources The most common concern around AI is its usage of resources—mainly electricity and water. Detractors claim that AI’s energy usage is dangerous, excessive, and unnecessary. The only way to train and operate LLM models like ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, etc. at scale is through large data centers. The two resources these data centers need to operate are electricity and water. Because of the constantly-increasing scale of AI usage, their consumption of these resources is likely only to rise in the coming years. At the very least, there should be serious concern about this environmental profligacy. Is there any truth to these claims? First, it…

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles! President Donald Trump is asking the Supreme Court to overturn a jury’s civil lawsuit verdict that he sexually abused and later defamed former Elle columnist E. Jean Carroll.Trump’s lawyers argued in a filing that allegations leading to the $5 million verdict were “propped up” by a “series of indefensible evidentiary rulings” that allowed Carroll’s lawyers to present “highly inflammatory propensity evidence” against him.”President Trump has clearly and consistently denied that this supposed incident ever occurred,” Justin Smith, one of Trump’s lawyers, and his co-counsel wrote in the filing, according to The Associated Press. “No physical or DNA evidence corroborates Carroll’s story. There were no eyewitnesses, no video evidence, and no police report or investigation.”Carroll sued Trump twice after she released a book in 2019 that claimed Trump raped her during a brief encounter in a department store dressing room in New York City in the 1990s. Trump vigorously denied the claims, saying he had never met Carroll, that she was not his “type” and that she fabricated the incident to sell books. His vocal and repeated criticisms and denials led to Carroll’s defamation allegations.FEDERAL APPEALS COURT UPHOLDS $83.3 MILLION E. JEAN CARROLL…
