NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles! Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., wants to extend protections for Haitian migrants, and Republicans say it’s a perfect example of him putting the interests of illegal immigrants over Americans. Schumer fast-tracked a House-passed bill that would extend the Temporary Protected Status (TPS) of Haitian migrants for three years earlier this week onto the Senate schedule. Whether it actually makes it to the floor is ultimately up to Senate Majority Leader John Thune, R-S.D.The top Senate Democrat’s desire to pass the legislation in the Senate comes at an inflection point for both the protected status of Haitian migrants and a funding battle started, in part, over immigration operations in the country.  HOUSE REPUBLICANS DEFY TRUMP TO SHIELD HAITIANS FROM DEPORTATIONSen. Katie Britt, R-Ala., who led negotiations for Senate Republicans to try to strike a compromise deal to end the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) shutdown, told Fox News Digital, “I’m so glad that he is prioritizing people who are not American consistently.””What about the countless Americans that have died at the hands of illegal aliens? This article was originally published by Michael Snyder at The End of the American Dream.  This is the worst of times for U.S. farmers. Coming into 2026, we were already in the midst of the worst farming crisis in at least 50 years. Now the war in the Middle East has caused fertilizer prices to go absolutely haywire, and a historic drought has created nightmare conditions for farmers from coast to coast. What we are witnessing is truly unprecedented. One recent survey discovered that 70 percent of U.S. farmers won’t be able to afford all of the fertilizer that they need this year. When have we ever seen that happen before? And some farmers are telling us that they may not plant anything at all this year due to extreme drought. If the information in this article shocks you, that is good, because we all need a major league wake-up call right now. The Strait of Hormuz is the most important chokepoint on the entire planet, and as I write this article, there are hundreds of commercial vessels on both sides of the Strait that are unable to travel through it… Hundreds of commercial tankers are stranded on both sides of…

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles! The light at the end of the New York Mets’ clubhouse tunnel appeared bright after Francisco Lindor hit a three-run home run in the bottom of the third inning, and starter Nolan McLean was mowing down Minnesota Twins batters, taking a no-hitter into the sixth inning. The Mets’ losing streak, sitting at 11 games as their returned home on Tuesday, the longest it’s been for the franchise since 2004, was on the way to ending at Citi Field.Until it wasn’t. McLean’s no-hitter ended when Matt Wallner singled to lead off the sixth inning, but the young starter who was featured in Team USA’s World Baseball Classic rotation was able to get the next two batters out. But his Team USA teammate, center fielder Byron Buxton, gave all Mets fans a “here we go again” moment when he hammered a two-run homer to left field to cut New York’s lead to just one run.McLean came out to the mound for the top of the seventh inning instead of manager Carlos Mendoza going to the bullpen, and Luke Keaschall tied the game after singling home Kody Clemens, who doubled to right field just an at-bat…

Former White House chief of staff (and potential 2028 presidential hopeful) Rahm Emanuel is associated with the phrase: “You never want a serious crisis to go to waste.” His point was parlaying voters’ short-term anxiety into long-term political gain.Yet with a gallon of gasoline averaging more than four dollars in early April, the normal deafening chorus from the environmental movement has fallen to a dull murmur – even in the lead-up to Earth Day, their holiest of high holidays. The Coast Guard chose the site of a former college in Birmingham, Alabama, as the location for its new recruit training center. The campus of Birmingham-Southern College, which closed its doors in 2024 as a result of financial straits, is considered a turnkey location that could start training new Coast Guard members by the end of the year. The location was selected because it met nearly immediate occupational requirements at less cost than new construction, federal officials said. “The acquisition of the historic Birmingham-Southern College as our new training center is a critical step in our Force Design 2028 strategy, providing the right facilities necessary to grow our service and ensure the Coast Guard stands always ready,” Commandant Adm. Kevin Lunday said in a statement Wednesday. The Coast Guard launched a modernization plan – Force Design 2028 – last year to reform its administration, add aircraft, ships and unmanned systems and grow its force by 15,000 personnel. As part of the effort, service officials announced in November that they would open a second recruit training center to complement its 77-year-old Training Center Cape May in New Jersey. The Coast Guard issued a request for information for existing facilities that met…

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles! The sinking of the Iranian warship IRIS Dena by a single Mk 48 torpedo has put renewed focus on the U.S. Navy’s primary undersea weapon, a heavyweight torpedo that first entered operational service in 1972 and has been steadily upgraded for modern naval warfare. The strike on the IRIS Dena marked the first time since World War II that a U.S. submarine used a torpedo to sink an enemy ship.”In the Indian Ocean, an American submarine sunk an Iranian warship that thought it was safe in international waters. Instead, it was sunk by a torpedo. Quiet Death,” War Secretary Pete Hegseth said at a press conference on Wednesday. The Navy says the Mk 48 has long served as its principal undersea weapon, designed to “defeat all threat surface ships and submarines in all ocean environments.” The Mk 48 is a submarine-launched torpedo that uses information from the launching submarine and its own sensors to find and strike submarines or surface ships.Physically, the weapon is built for destructive power. According to Navy specifications, the torpedo measures 21 inches in diameter, weighs about 3,744 pounds and carries a 650-pound high-explosive warhead.According to the Department of the…

Early Life Born in 1898 in West Point, Virginia, he was of English ancestry with ancestors who emigrated to the Virginia Colony in 1621. As a boy, he listened to Civil War veterans recount their experiences and was fascinated by General “Stonewall” Jackson. Puller was destined for military service, and he attempted to enlist in the U.S. Army to fight Mexico in the border war (learn about America’s hunt for Pancho Villa), but could not get his parents to consent. The United States has said that the war with Iran has “only just begun.” It added that it has already struck more than 2,000 targets since the initial joint attack with Israel. Iran’s Health Ministry says more than 920 people there have been killed. “We’ve only just begun to hunt, dismantle, demoralize, destroy, and defeat their capabilities,” Hegseth told reporters at the Pentagon on Wednesday. That statement echoed U.S. President Donald Trump’s sentiment.  Trump said Monday that “we haven’t even started hitting them hard. The big wave hasn’t even happened. The big one is coming soon.” Iran, Israel, And The United States All Say That They Are Ready For War There has already been a large discrepancy in the reporting of deaths between the U.S. and Iran. Pentagon Confirms 3 Deaths, Iran Claims It Killed 200 In Strikes The U.S. defense secretary Pete Hegseth said today that the war expanded once again. Iran, for the first time, has fired a drone into NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization) territory, and the U.S. used a torpedo fired by a submarine to sink a warship for the first time since World War II. Hegseth was also quoted as saying the fighting is “far…

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles! Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is making it clear: he’s staying in the race for the Republican Senate nomination even if President Donald Trump endorses Paxton’s rival, longtime Sen. John Cornyn.”I’m staying in this race,” Paxton said in an interview Wednesday evening. “I owe it to the people of Texas.” Trump says he’ll soon take sides in the costly and combustible GOP primary showdown Cornyn and Paxton. “I will be making my Endorsement soon,” the president wrote in a social media post hours after Cornyn and Paxton advanced to a May 26 runoff election. The two heated rivals topped a crowded field of contenders in Tuesday’s primary, but since no one cleared the 50% threshold, the nomination race heads into overtime. Trump added that he “will be asking the candidate that I don’t Endorse to immediately DROP OUT OF THE RACE!”A Republican operative in Trump’s political orbit told Fox News Digital it’s expected Cornyn will get the president’s endorsement. However, the president has been known to change his mind on candidates or even reverse endorsements. A second source in Trump’s political orbit told Fox News that while there’s still jockeying to influence the president’s decision, given…

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles! Former President Barack Obama on Thursday endorsed Democrats’ redistricting effort in Virginia that could grant the party four additional seats in the House of Representatives.Virginia is one of several states engaged in a nationwide redistricting battle ahead of the 2026 midterm elections. So far, Obama has thrown his weight behind Democrat initiatives in both California and now Virginia.”Free and fair elections are the cornerstone of our democracy. But right now, they’re under attack,” Obama wrote on X Thursday.”Several Republican-controlled states have redrawn their congressional maps to give themselves an unfair advantage in the midterm elections. Now Virginia has a chance to help level the playing field. If you live in the Commonwealth, early voting begins March 6, and Election Day is on April 21. Vote YES,” he added. Obama urged Californians to back Gov. Gavin Newsom’s redistricting effort late last year, arguing it was a “responsible” tactic in response to GOP redistricting efforts in Texas. His newfound support for redrawing congressional maps comes six years after he and former Attorney General Eric Holder launched All On The Line, a “a grassroots movement to fight gerrymandering and advocate for a fair redistricting process.”Obama also…

Sponsored by: KnivesShipFree It’s tactical, it’s practical, and it’s back for its first 2026 appearance: a new batch of the Kopis Designs L-Via is now available at KnivesShipFree. The L-Via has a long lineage in the knife world, with roots that go back to a full custom piece, Ed Calderon’s Elvia. That fixed blade, like many custom pieces, came in different sizes and color configurations – but there were never enough to go around. Enter Kopis Designs, a knife shop that specializes in that small but crucial mid-point between production and custom knives: the mid-tech. In 2020 they brought out the mid-tech L-Via, a very faithful reproduction of Calderon’s custom. Although a semi-production piece can’t be altered as often as a custom theoretically could, over the years Kopis Designs have added variations to the core L-Via design. The 2.5-inch hawkbill blade – made in 154CM since the beginning of the L-Via project, and that is unchanged in this latest batch – can be had plain edged or serrated, with a curved spine or a ramped one; this latter option works very nicely with the creatively ergonomic handle to allow for even more control over each cut. Beyond these use-affecting varietals,…

This article was originally published by Connor O’Keeffe at The Mises Institute.  Over the weekend, the US and Israeli governments attacked Iran. In the days since, both militaries have reportedly struck thousands of targets, and Iranian forces have retaliated by launching hundreds or even thousands of missiles and drones at Israel and at US bases in surrounding Gulf countries. When announcing the operation, President Trump explicitly said it was meant to free the Iranian people from the regime they currently live under. And, indeed, the first strikes targeted and killed dozens of Iran’s leaders—including the Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. However, it quickly became clear that there is no organized internal guerrilla force or government-in-waiting for the invading powers to install, as there typically is in a genuine regime-change operation. What we’ve seen so far has looked a lot more like an attempt to bring about regime collapse than regime change. And that isn’t necessarily surprising. As I explained last week, despite all the propaganda and focus-group-workshopped talking points we’re subjected to about the Iranian regime’s supposed obsession with starting a suicidal nuclear war, the true motivation for this entire decades-long conflict with Iran is to protect and expand Israeli hegemony over the…
