Autonomous boats helped escort a U.S. Army vessel during a recent military exercise, the Army said, in a demonstration of how uncrewed assets are changing maritime operations. Soldiers from the 125th Intelligence and Electronic Warfare Battalion, 25th Infantry Division, deployed unmanned surface vessels, or USVs, in Casiguran Sound bay, during an exercise with the Philippine Army. The USVs deployed ahead of a U.S. Army Logistics Support Vessel, or LSV, as it neared Casiguran port, the Army said in a June release, observing the environment and transmitting information to personnel on land. The operation was part of Salaknib 2026, and supported the transportation of Philippine Army personnel and vehicles — including armored personnel carriers — more than 260 miles to Port Casiguran. The USVs navigated autonomously using onboard sensors to identify potential threats and provide commanders with a continuous picture of the operating environment.“We deployed the autonomous intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance boats to provide security for landing craft today,” said Pvt. Caleb Hannah, a soldier from the 125th Intelligence and Electronic Warfare Battalion, 25th Infantry Division. “They escorted the LSV to port from about six miles out, allowing Philippine vehicles to roll onto the dock.”Photos released by the Army appear to show soldiers…
United States President Donald Trump has claimed that only the US, which does not have sovereign control over the Strait of Hormuz, can impose a toll on vessels traversing the vital waterway. He has rejected the idea that Iran will impose tolls in the aftermath of the ceasefire agreement that many argue is simply a US “surrender.” “There will be NO TOLLS in the Hormuz Strait for 60 days during the Cease Fire Period, and there will be NO TOLLS after the 60-day period has expired, unless they are imposed by and for the United States of America, should the deal not be completed,” Trump wrote on Truth Social on Saturday. US & Iran Agree To A Deal That May Reopen Strait of Hormuz…Eventually However, the text of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by Trump and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian states that Iran is able to levy tolls after the 60 days have lapsed. The MoU, which was published by Fars News Agency, an Iranian outlet, appears to give Iran a formal role in shaping the post-ceasefire regime in the Strait of Hormuz. The text states that Tehran will consult with Oman on the “future administration and maritime services” in the waterway and…
If you’ve been to a grocery store lately, you’ve noticed how expensive food have gotten. Eggs, meat, canned goods, bread, pretty much everything has gone up, and it’s unlikely prices will go back down. It makes stocking up for emergencies that much more difficult. How are you supposed to stock up on months of food when just a single month of regular groceries is hard to manage? Well, here’s the thing, it depends on what kind of food you stock up on. With the right approach, you can stockpile a serious amount of shelf-stable food very quickly and very cheaply. This article is based on a video by Rouge Preparedness in which creator Morgan demonstrates exactly how she bagged up a year’s worth of dry food staples for a family of five, using Mylar bags, for around $200, in just 30 minutes. NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles! The city of Chicago was rocked by a spate of shootings over the weekend, including a drive-by mass shooting on Juneteenth, leaving seven dead and 38 injured in the Windy City. The shootings prompted President Donald Trump to call on Democratic Gov. J.B. Pritzker to take action by requesting federal assistance. The Associated Press reported that at least two dozen shooting incidents took place over the weekend, with victims who died ranging in age from 18 to 50. On Friday night, two unidentified individuals fired into a crowd in Princeton Park on Chicago’s South Side, resulting in 12 people — eight males and four females — being hospitalized, according to the AP.That same night, a 29-year-old man named Mario Price was killed in a drive-by shooting in which he was shot in the body and face, according to Fox 32 Chicago. A 70-year-old man who was standing nearby was also shot in the leg but survived. Shootings continued on Saturday and Sunday, resulting in additional deaths and injuries.Besides these, on Thursday, a 14-year-old boy was shot multiple times, resulting in his death, according to the Chicago Sun-Times. A Defense Department official disclosed that U.S. forces used Elon Musk’s Grok AI tool to help deploy “over 2,000 munitions to 2,000 distinct targets” during the first four days of combat operations in Iran. The disclosure offered a glimpse into how generative AI is being used by the military. It came in a court filing supporting the Justice Department’s effort to dismiss a lawsuit targeting a Mississippi power plant, also owned by Musk, that supplies electricity to data centers used to run the AI system.Cameron Stanley, the Defense Department’s chief digital and artificial intelligence officer, made the disclosure in a statement filed in support of the government’s motion. He called the example “a testament to the greatly increased operational efficiency made possible by the Grok Gov Model.”He added that if the lawsuit succeeds in shutting down the power plant, Grok’s parent company, xAI, would lose capacity to train and develop future versions of the AI tool. “And if xAI is hindered from continuing to improve and upgrade Grok, including the Grok Gov Model, [the Department of Defense’s] ability to meet its national security mission and keep pace with adversaries will be impaired,” Stanley said.Although Stanley did not elaborate on how military…
In this article, Greg Frebourg reviews the Springfield Ronin EMP 9mm pistol. The handgun was loaned to the author by the company for this article. If it quacks like a duck, floats, walks and looks like a duck, well, it is a duck. That common sense saying might be full of wisdom, but it falls short as soon as anyone asks: “what kind of duck?”. Yes indeed, there are many kinds of ducks, and for most people, their differences are anecdotal and only feather deep. In some cases, looking like a duck only goes so far: anybody who tried to eat a coot will tell you with a grimace that not all ducks are alike, and that some deserve their own category. The Ronin EMP is not only a remarkably accurate handgun, it is also, in the author’s experience, the softest-shooting 9mm Luger pistol he has ever shot. What about a 9mm Luger gun that looks like a 1911, shoots, reloads and handles like a 1911? Such a gun is the subject of this review: the Springfield Ronin EMP 4’’. Despite its obvious 1911 foundation, scaling and re-engineering the 1911 to this cartridge by Springfield Armory makes it not only…

MoreIn the age of drones and artificial intelligence, the Army is reinvigorating how it teaches troops to kill at arm’s length.Soldiers in Georgia hoping to earn the Army’s coveted Ranger tab will now start the monthslong school by stabbing their way through Fort Benning’s new bayonet obstacle course, the service announced on Monday.Candidates for the Army’s premier small unit tactics school will now need to slice into silicone torsos while they navigate through trenches, over walls and under tunnels as smoke machines obscure parts of the quarter-mile course. “The Bayonet Assault Course allows us to introduce a level of grit, a level of violence of action, very rapidly into Ranger school,” said Command Sgt. Maj. Patrick Hartung, the command sergeant major of the Airborne and Ranger Training Brigade, later adding, “If all technology fails, [Ranger students] will have the fundamentals.”The bayonet course, launched during this year’s Best Ranger Competition, will now precede Ranger School’s Malvesti obstacle course, a grueling set of physically challenging tasks that sleep- and food-deprived students must confidently navigate. On April 21, the first cohort of Ranger School students tackled the newly integrated course. In a video released by the Army, soldiers with shaved heads heaved themselves over…
Jack Wolf Knives has a new locking model lined up for release later this month, the Feelbetter Jack. This one modernizes a lesser-seen pattern, the doctor’s knife, for everyday carry. The doctor’s knife pattern is one for the cutlery cognoscenti, with not nearly as much circulation as some of its historical peers. It is so named because – surprise surprise – doctors would use it; the original version featured two implements, a long-ish main blade and a spatula for sorting pills and powders. Speaking of powders, the bolstered butt end was used to crush up pills when the need arose. In more modern times, the doctor’s knife more likely ended up in the pockets of EDC users with an appreciation for something a little different. Always cool to see Kirinite in a lineup To answer your first question: no, this is not the first Jack Wolf model with a pill spatula. The Feelbetter Jack forgoes the secondary implement, giving center stage to the main blade, a 3.38-inch sheepsfoot with a high-powered hollow grind. It’s made from S90V steel, so overall this is one of those blades that you just know will be an aggressive slicer. The handle does feature the…
After declaring Iran’s recent peace proposal as a “piece of garbage,” United States President Donald Trump considers new strikes against Tehran. With the standoff ongoing, many fear that the war will reignite with new strikes. On Monday, Trump provided a glimpse into the dire state of diplomacy between the US and Iran, saying that “the ceasefire is on massive life support” while dismissing the recent peace proposal from Tehran as a “piece of garbage” that he said he “didn’t even finish reading.” CNN reported on Tuesday, citing sources, that Trump has grown “increasingly frustrated” with Iran’s handling of negotiations, while several US officials are questioning whether Tehran is willing to engage at all. CNN further alleged that Trump is “now more seriously considering a resumption of major combat operations.” The report added that the stance is shared by some of the Pentagon officials who believe the continued strikes could soften Iran’s position. A major decision before Trump’s departure to China is unlikely. The 1,600 ships still stranded in the Gulf are causing major concerns for food security and fuel prices worldwide. Trump had promised to break the standoff in the Strait of Hormuz with what he called “Project Freedom,” but recently abandoned the idea. The…

Matthew Rhys is sounding off on the public behavior driving him “bananas.””The Americans” star isn’t hiding his irritation with one modern habit that’s seemingly pushed him over the edge — people blasting videos, music and FaceTime calls in public like everyone else signed up for the experience.”Do you have any pet peeves?” Rhys was asked in a Wall Street Journal interview.”What is driving me bananas these days are people who watch things on their phones without headphones,” Rhys said. “I’m turning into my dad, but I feel like I have to start saying to people, ‘Excuse me, do you have headphones?’ Because if we’re not schooling people, it’s going to become more rampant than it already is, and it is out of control.”‘ENTOURAGE’ STAR JEREMY PIVEN SAYS PEOPLE ARE TOO EASILY TRIGGERED AND NEED TO HEAR EACH OTHER OUT The actor’s solution to modern overstimulation is about as unplugged as it gets.”What do you do to relax?” he was asked.”If it’s not on the water—if it’s not a kayak or sail or something like that—then horses are big for me,” Rhys explained. “You just get to be quiet and in nature. A waterway sign that reads “Open. Closed. Open.” A helicopter bearing the name “Kid Rock Force One.” Oil barrels that collectively spell out “LUBE.”Such are the art features wrapping three recently installed arcade games — also available to play online — at the District of Columbia War Memorial in the nation’s capital, the latest protest by the anonymous group Secret Handshake, which previously made headlines in September after installing a statue on the National Mall depicting President Donald Trump holding hands and skipping with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. The new installation’s game, officially called “Operation Epic Furious: Strait To Hell,” was developed as a response to the administration’s repeated use of video game footage to highlight military successes in Iran, the group told WUSA9. One such post featured video from strikes in Iran interspersed with game footage from Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. The post, shared on March 6 by the White House’s official account, came just five days after six U.S. soldiers were killed by an Iranian drone strike at Kuwait’s Port of Shuaiba. Similar posts include one featuring airstrikes alongside footage from Nintendo Wii, and another depicting a bowling alley-style “STRIKE” animation alongside war footage. “The game…

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles! Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Commissioner Marty Makary is resigning from his position Tuesday, a White House official told Fox News Digital. The official said that Makary’s resignation has to do with “process at the FDA” and not a specific issue, and said there is “no bad blood” between President Donald Trump and the outgoing commissioner. Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. pushed for Makary’s resignation, according to the White House official. Kyle Diamantis, FDA deputy commissioner for Food, will serve as acting commissioner, Fox News Digital learned. TRUMP PICKS DR. MARTY MAKARY AS FOOD AND DRUG ADMINISTRATION COMMISSIONER Makary’s resignation followed mounting pressure from pro-life advocates and administration critics who had grown frustrated with his handling of several high-profile FDA decisions and claims he has slow-rolled MAHA initiatives, according to media reports in recent weeks. The Wall Street Journal reported on Friday that the president had reportedly already signed off on a plan to fire Makary, citing three familiar sources who cited Makary’s handling of abortion and drug policy. “I’ve been reading about it, but I know nothing about it,” Trump said the same day after he was asked by reporters if Makary…
Back in 2022, on our way to an Airbnb we rented for the weekend, my husband and I drove past Lookout Mountain Flight Park. A small, unassuming building stood next to a concrete launch ramp — where three hang gliders were lined up on the edge of a steep, towering cliff.”Would you ever…?”He didn’t even have to finish his question. “Absolutely not,” I said. “Not in a million years.”CLICK HERE FOR MORE COVERAGE FROM OUTKICK And by a million years, I guess I actually meant four. Because last weekend, we pulled up to that same flight park. Except this time, I had a reservation for a tandem flight.I went into this experience completely blind. What even is hang gliding? Is there a way to steer? Does this thing have a motor or do you just sort of get a running start and hurl yourself off the mountain? A mystery to me.Along with a group of seven other people, I was directed to a back room, where we were promptly handed clipboards with paperwork to sign. Waivers to acknowledge that — although safety is the No. 1 priority for Lookout Mountain Flight Park — gliding 1,500 feet above the ground in…
