NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles! The Artemis II astronauts who recently traveled around the moon reminded us that watching humans rocket into space creates a profoundly shared sense of connection, unity and hope. Between the two of us, we’ve flown millions of miles through space. In each of those missions, we proudly represented our country, worked together to achieve a common goal and carried a responsibility to speak up if we spotted a concern. We are former NASA astronauts, and we swore an oath to support and defend the U.S. Constitution. We love this country, and we believe deeply in the American values that have guided our nation for nearly 250 years. On Tuesday, April 21, we launch a new patriotic mission: to protect the Constitution and the rule of law, and to elevate leaders who are committed to getting things done and preserving American democracy for the long term. With help and support from over 100 fellow former NASA astronauts, we’ve created Astronauts for America to promote the democratic values that make self-government possible. Our members are Republicans, Democrats and Independents from every corner of the country and from all walks of life. Collectively, we bring a deep…

This article was originally published by Micahel Snyder at The Economic Collapse Blog under the title: The U.S. Navy Just Blew A Giant Hole In An Iranian Cargo Ship As The Crisis In The Strait Of Hormuz Escalates To An Entirely New Level Apparently the Trump administration was not kidding when it warned that no Iranian ships would be allowed through the blockade. Just a little while ago, Donald Trump announced that the U.S. Navy had blown an enormous hole in the side of an Iranian cargo vessel that had willingly chosen to ignore a warning to turn around. Just two days after the completely irrational euphoria that we witnessed on Friday, the crisis in the Strait of Hormuz is worse than ever, and there is no end in sight. On Friday, I explained why the extremely positive headlines that we were reading in the Western world were dead wrong. When the two-week ceasefire with Iran was originally unveiled, the Iranians were supposed to completely open the Strait of Hormuz for that two-week period. But they hesitated because fighting was still raging in Lebanon, and the Iranians believed that the fighting in Lebanon was supposed to be part of the ceasefire.…

Also, ex-NFL cornerback Dré Bly, who spent 11 years in the league, is Downs’ uncle. But while his father…

Washington reportedly began a study on “reparative actions” for descendants of slavery on Friday after allocating $300,000 to the effort.Last year, the Washington State Legislature funded a study to examine the history and impact of slavery in the U.S. as it relates to “the geography of the former Washington and Oregon territories.” The state also wants to analyze how residents were impacted by state laws and systems regarding criminal justice, economics and education, according to the Washington State Department of Commerce.CHICAGO MAYOR LINKS RESTAURANT INDUSTRY TO ‘SLAVERY’ AS TIPPED WAGE FIGHT INTENSIFIES State documents show that the legislature approved $300,000 to fund the project. NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles! Former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene asserted in a Monday post on X that regardless of which political party wields power in Washington D.C., the nation continues traveling down the same path.”Nothing ever changes in Washington. No matter which party is in charge. You still get a bigger debt. You still get foreign wars and you pay for them. Your cost of living still increases and the value of the dollar continues to shrink,” Greene wrote.”Voting for both Democrats and Republicans is the worst ROI for the American people,” she added.TRUMP TRASHES MTG AFTER REPUBLICAN WINS CONTEST TO FILL HER OLD SEAT ‘DESPITE THE STENCH LEFT BY GREENE’ Her criticism comes amid the 2026 midterm election cycle, which will determine whether Republicans maintain their majorities in the House and Senate.Fox News Digital reached out to the White House for comment on Tuesday.Greene, who in the past had been a staunch ally of President Donald Trump’s, left Congress in the middle of her term early this year after a falling out with the president last year.TRUMP PUSHES BACK AGAINST PUNDITS, SAYS ISRAEL DID NOT TALK HIM INTO THE IRAN WAR Greene wrote “25th AMENDMENT!!!”…

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles! If you’re proud of something, you want people to see it. That is why it’s telling that Virginia Democrats are asking Old Dominion residents to vote for a redistricting scheme without allowing their proposed map to be printed on the ballots. But it’s no wonder: the mid-decade redistricting proposal is an obscene gerrymander that will wipe out all but one GOP-leaning congressional district in the state. And, of course, they claim it’s all done in the name of “democracy.”This dishonest power play seeks to make the congressional representation of a purple state nearly as blue as Massachusetts. It disenfranchises nearly half the Commonwealth (Virginia went 51.8%-46.6% for Vice President Kamala Harris in 2024). The proposed districts are extreme – running from heavily populated blue areas deep into rural red areas. Federal government employees in Arlington and Fairfax will essentially dictate the congressional representation of farmers and shopkeepers up to 100 miles away.DAVID MARCUS: RICH MEN NORTH OF RICHMOND TRY TO STEAL VOTES OF RURAL VIRGINIANSLocal airwaves have been inundated with ads pushing this redistricting scheme as a benevolent attempt to save democracy and “free and fair elections.” One ubiquitous ad features former President…

As Mark Thornton has detailed in his brilliant book, The Skyscraper Curse, Austrian School economists’ unique theory of the business cycle has given them a distinct advantage in foreseeing oncoming economic crises: from Ludwig von Mises’s 1920s predictions of looming bank failures, to Thornton’s own 2004 warnings of the housing bubble and its consequences. Contemporary Austrians continue to apply this theory when scrutinizing the anxious landscape of today’s economy, looking for early warning signs of where central bank monetary manipulation will manifest itself next. However, depending on the course which history takes, we may someday look back and reflect that today’s Austrians were outdone in their prognostications by one Helen McCaw, who has recently warned that the next financial crisis could be triggered by the announcement of the existence of extraterrestrial life. Ms. McCaw—a former senior analyst at the Bank of England—wrote to the current governor of Britain’s central bank to warn that a supposedly imminent announcement of the existence of advanced alien life might cause extreme uncertainty in financial markets, possibly triggering bank collapses. “The United States government appears to be partway through a multi-year process to declassify and disclose information on the existence of a technologically advanced non-human intelligence responsible for Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena…

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles! As tipping prompts pop up everywhere — from coffee counters to convenience stores — many Americans are feeling fed up and confused about what’s appropriate. Now, even former NFL star J.J. Watt is weighing in.Watt recently ignited debate on X after questioning whether to tip in a self-service scenario. He asked followers what they would do in the following scenario: You order at a counter, find your own table, fill your own coffee and retrieve your own food when a buzzer goes off. AMERICANS ARE FED UP WITH TIPPING CULTURE AS NEARLY 9 IN 10 SAY IT’S COMPLETELY ‘OUT OF CONTROL’But then you face an iPad screen prompting you to tip 20%, 25%, 30% or some other amount — with 20% preselected.”What’s your move?” Watt asked. The post from Wednesday quickly went viral. It drew more than 15,000 comments and 4 million views — and reignited a national conversation about when tipping is warranted and when it’s not.”I tip simply because I know that servers live in poverty,” one user told Watt. The person added, “With your vast wealth, you should do so also.” Watt, a former Houston Texans defensive end and three-time NFL Defensive Player of…

The U.S. Navy decommissioned half of its Avenger-class mine countermeasure ships last year and began replacing them with littoral combat ships that possess anti-mine capabilities.Naval mine warfare is a major tenet of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy military doctrine, according to a 2017 Office of Naval Intelligence report, and looks to be a factor in the ongoing Iran war.Iran reportedly began laying mines in the Strait of Hormuz this week, with U.S. Central Command announcing Tuesday that it had struck 16 Iranian mine-layers.The U.S. remains confident that it’s new phase of mine countermeasure capabilities can successfully thwart mine warfare.“The [littoral combat ship] MCM mission package is a sophisticated suite of manned and unmanned systems designed to locate, identify, and neutralize sea mines, at a safer distance from minefields than the Avenger-class MCMs,” a Navy official told Military Times on the condition of anonymity.Independence-class littoral combat ships equipped with the mine countermeasures mission package began arriving in the U.S. Fifth Fleet last year to replace the decommissioned minesweepers in Bahrain. The USS Canberra was the first LCS with the MCM package to arrive in the Middle East on May 22. The USS Santa Barbara and USS Tulsa, two other littoral combat…

A closer look at what stress does to your mind and body during and after a lethal force incident.Imagine you wake at 2 in the morning to the sound of breaking glass. Your heart races. In a split second your brain goes into overdrive: you worry about your family, defending your home, and the safety of the people you love. You jump out of bed, grab your weapon, and move through a house you know like the back of your hand. In the living room you see the silhouette of a figure who is too large to be one of your loved ones. You turn on your weapon light. A pistol is raised toward you and a shot rings out—it misses to the left. You raise your weapon, present, engage, fire three shots, and the intruder drops to the ground. You move forward cautiously, weapon trained on the body, check for a pulse, confirm they are dead, take a breath and then the adrenaline dump hits: Your hands start to shake. You call 911 and let the system do its work. That entire scenario—the way your brain and body respond—is what we will explore. Today, we look at the science behind…

Growing up, my family had a vegetable garden every year. We didn’t grow one because we had to but because we enjoyed the work and the availability of fresh produce at our fingertips. These days it seems almost trendy to say you grow your own food but the time to have a food garden out of necessity certainly seems to be on the horizon. Food prices keep increasing, shortages have become normal, and changing weather patterns all affect what types of foods are available to us. The system on which we rely for our food is really an experiment. When you take into account the whole of human existence this system hasn’t been around for all that long so it’s no wonder it has problems. Whether that system just keeps getting worse, it collapses, or SHTF happens, the answer is that we need to get back to our roots and grow our own food. In the case of SHTF, you are going to want the most calorie-dense vegetables and fruits you can grow and you are going to want to grow them as quickly as you can. Want to save this post for later? NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles! Arizona state senator Catherine Miranda, a Democrat, has come under scrutiny on social media after an exchange with former NCAA volleyball player and “save women’s sports” activist Kaylie Ray. Ray showed up to the Arizona Senate Education committee hearing on Wednesday to lobby for a bill that would protect women’s sports from biological males. She spoke from the perspective of a former Utah State captain who led a team forfeit against San Jose State in 2024, in protest of a trans athlete on San Jose State University (SJSU). After Ray shared her testimony, Miranda opened her response by commenting on Ray’s appearance.  “I have my sports hat on now. It’s all about a sports mentality, growing up in sports, being a tomboy. I mean, you look pretty healthy. I’ve played against girls that look like you. You look very much in shape and strong,” Miranda said. The state senator then argued against Ray’s position and the bill by claiming she had competed against men herself in sports, and would compete against men in sports and ended her lecture with the question, “How competitive do you think you really are?”At no point in Miranda’s response did…

The suspect who killed one person and injured two others at Old Dominion University on Thursday has been identified by authorities as Mohamed Bailor Jalloh, who pleaded guilty in 2016 to attempting to provide material support to the Islamic State, according to the FBI.The shooting is being investigated as an act of terrorism, FBI Director Kash Patel said in a social media post. He said the shooter is dead because of “a group of brave students who stepped in and subdued him.”Their actions “undoubtedly saved lives along with the quick response of law enforcement,” Patel said.Jalloh, a former member of the Army National Guard, was sentenced to 11 years in prison and was released from federal custody in December 2024.Ashraf Nubani, a Virginia attorney who represented Jalloh in his 2016 criminal case, did not immediately respond to messages Thursday seeking comment. At a news conference Thursday afternoon, Old Dominion University Police Chief Garrett Shelton said officers responded after receiving reports that people were being shot in one of the classrooms in the university’s business school building, Constant Hall. After the university initially said there were two victims, Shelton said authorities learned that there was a third victim who brought themselves to a…

Sencut’s latest flipper, the Selkyris, is primed to drop in the next couple of weeks. A mid-sized clip point blade with a super sleek profile sets this user apart from its fellow Sencuttians. It’s hard to believe that, not so many years ago, sub-2 inch EDC blades were the hot thing – it wasn’t unheard of to see a larger size spec’d for daily carry, but far, far less common than it is today. In fact, we’d go so far as to say that it’s unusual to see an EDC knife release these days with a blade length under that 3-inch mark. Evidently the knife world, like many other niche communities, has its seasons and cycles, where things go out of fashion only to return in a few years. The aluminum scales help keep the Selkyris’s weight down All of which is to say that here, on the Selkyris, we see the latest of many, many examples of the EDC knife with a mid-size blade length – in this case, 3.36 inches. The low-snouted clip point on the Selkyris certainly gives it an injection of welcome ‘tude, while being just as capable of the usual cutting job suspects as more…

A military inquiry has faulted the United States for the destruction and massacre of a girls’ school in Iran during the initial bombings in Minab. Previously, Donald Trump tried to blame the school’s destruction on Iran, claiming Tehran hit the school with a U.S.-made Tomahawk missile. Trump Said Iran Bombed Its Own School During Minab Attack It was fairly obvious early on that the U.S. was responsible for bombing the school; however, the ruling class tried to play it off as Iran’s fault. Investigations by the Associated Press, CNN, and the Washington Post all concluded that the U.S. was the most likely culprit behind the attack. Visual analysis cited by the New York Times, including satellite imagery and videos from the scene, indicates the blast was consistent with a Tomahawk impact. U.S. Strikes Iranian School Killing At Least 168 Children and Staff The February 28th strike on the Shajarah Tayyebeh girls’ school came on the first day of the US-Israeli attack on Iran that resulted in the death of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and several senior Iranian commanders, as well as hundreds of civilians. It is the deadliest single strike in the ongoing campaign so far. –RT According to…
