Hundreds of members of the U.S. military stood in formation at the White House on Tuesday to welcome Britain’s King Charles III and Queen Camilla, as President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump rolled out the red carpet to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.“Honoring the British king might seem an ironic beginning to our celebration of 250 years of American independence,” the president said to the crowd. “But in fact, no tribute could be more appropriate.”“Long before Americans had a nation or a Constitution, we first had a culture, a character, and a creed,” Trump continued. “Before we ever proclaimed our independence, Americans carried within us the rarest of gifts: moral courage, and it came from a small but mighty kingdom from across the sea.”The rain abated just minutes before the monarch was feted with a meticulously choreographed ceremony: a fife-and-drum corps in perfect unison, as well as “The President’s Own” Marine band performing both national anthems, and a 21-gun salute reverberating across the South Lawn. The president and the king went on to preside over the first-ever pass in review conducted at the White House, which featured 300 U.S. service members. The Pentagon is formally seeking congressional authorization to codify the “Department of War” moniker, estimating it will cost taxpayers approximately $52.5 million. The figure is substantially lower than the Congressional Budget Office’s projection in January, which estimated the rebrand could reach as much as $125 million if it were adopted “broadly and rapidly.”In a legislative proposal released this month, the department argued that the revised designation “serves as a fundamental reminder of the importance and reverence of our core mission, to fight and win wars. It serves as a strategic objective in which to measure and prioritize all activities.” President Donald Trump signed an executive order in September establishing the “Department of War” as a secondary title for the Department of Defense — a move that has remained largely ceremonial in effect. Only Congress has the authority to permanently rename executive department names, and it has not yet done so. Trump contends that reviving the nation’s original defense nomenclature — used until two years after World War II — is a “much more appropriate” reflection of the world today.“The name ‘Department of War’ conveys a stronger message of readiness and resolved compared to ‘Department of Defense,’ which emphasizes only defensive…

The 2026 FIFA World Cup is just weeks away, and as I do every four years or so, I’m jonesing for some World Cup soccer. However, this year’s tournament is bringing with it some new rules, one of which might be one of the goofiest I’ve ever heard.Want to cover your mouth while jawing with an opponent? Not unless you want a red card, you don’t, pal. According to The Athletic, FIFA has rolled out some new rules that give officials the latitude to issue players red cards if they cover their mouths during a confrontation with an opponent.TRUMP SAYS TARIFF TENSION WILL MAKE 2026 WORLD CUP ‘MORE EXCITING’It’s being left up to the on-field official to decide, based on the circumstances, whether or not to whip out the ol’ red card. Now, the reason for this dates back to an incident in which Real Madrid player Vinicius Jr. accused Benfica player Gianluca Prestianni of making racist comments. Prestianni denied this, but had his jersey over his mouth the entire time.He was ultimately banned by UEFA for six matches after admitting to making homophobic comments during the incident, though three of those matches were suspended and also include one match in which…
Recently appointed Acting Navy Secretary Hung Cao delivered brief remarks Tuesday about his plans for the Navy during one of his first public appearances as the head civilian leader of the service.Cao touched on his vision for the Golden Fleet, modernization efforts for the Navy and Marine Corps and the type of values and military ethos he is looking for in future service members while speaking at the Modern Day Marine exposition in Washington.Cao took over as the acting secretary Wednesday after previous Navy Secretary John Phelan was fired by the Trump administration.Cao, who previously criticized a sailor who performed as a drag queen, described what he viewed as ideal qualifications for future service members.“I don’t need cross-dressers in the military,” Cao said. “I need alpha males and alpha females.”RELATEDCao also said the military didn’t need “leaf eaters,” likely referring to vegetarians, and he wanted meat eaters instead. The acting Navy secretary discussed the Golden Fleet, which he said was not only about building ships, but about reforming the acquisition process to deliver a high and low mix of ships, or more expensive and more capable ships with less expensive ones.A destroyer couldn’t be used for everything, he pointed out, while…

This article was originally published by Michael Snyder at The End of the American Dream under the title: No Deal With Iran! An Apocalyptic “Regime Change War” Appears To Be Imminent, And Everyone Is Bracing For The Worst It appears that an apocalyptic war is about to begin in the Middle East, and yet most people living in the Western world don’t seem alarmed by this at all. But they should be, because once the missiles start flying, the death and destruction that we will witness will deeply shock the entire globe. The nuts that are running Iran fully understand that the goal this time around will be to bring their regime to an end, and they will throw everything that they have got at us in a desperate attempt to survive. Anyone who believes that there is any limit to what they might do is not being rational. They figure that if they are going to go down, they might as well go down swinging. Over the past week, several nations in the region have tried to act as mediators between the U.S. and Iran… A number of countries have been attempting in recent days to mediate between the United States…
NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles! The U.S. military warned Iran it will not tolerate “any unsafe and unprofessional behavior” surrounding U.S. forces in the Middle East as Tehran is gearing up for live-fire naval drills in the Strait of Hormuz. The declaration comes as Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) is set to begin a 2-day exercise starting Sunday, according to the U.S. Central Command. President Donald Trump announced this week that a “massive Armada is heading to Iran,” led by the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier. “U.S. forces acknowledge Iran’s right to operate professionally in international airspace and waters. Any unsafe and unprofessional behavior near U.S. forces, regional partners or commercial vessels increases risks of collision, escalation, and destabilization,” CENTCOM said in a statement. “CENTCOM will ensure the safety of U.S. personnel, ships, and aircraft operating in the Middle East. We will not tolerate unsafe IRGC actions, including overflight of U.S. military vessels engaged in flight operations, low-altitude or armed overflight of U.S. military assets when intentions are unclear, highspeed boat approaches on a collision course with U.S. military vessels, or weapons trained at U.S. forces,” it added.SAUDIS WON’T LET THE UNITED STATES USE ITS BASES OR AIRSPACE FOR AN ATTACK ON IRAN, SENIOR GULF OFFICIAL…

Virginia Democrats blasted for threatening historic military college VMI with funding threat over DEI concernsVirginia Democrats in the state’s House of Delegates introduced a resolution on Tuesday that would establish a task force to investigate the Virginia Military Institute and determine if the historic military college should continue to receive funding. Rob Wittman, R-Va., told Fox News Digital. “I think that it’s harmful to the Commonwealth of Virginia, harmful to VMI as an institution, harmful to all the incredible military leaders and community leaders that have come out of VMI.””It’s just reprehensible that they would even go down this road,” Wittman added. “But,…
Editor’s Note: In today’s article, Dr. Will Dabbs examines the versatile Heinkel He 111 in World War II. The German medium bomber became one of the most recognizable Luftwaffe aircraft of the war. Originally designed as a civilian airliner, the He 111 evolved into a versatile combat aircraft that participated in every major campaign. Lt. Mikhail Petrovich Devyatayev was a Russian P-39 Airacobra pilot during World War II. The peculiar mid-engine P-39 offered fairly poor high-altitude performance and was subsequently relegated to second-line duties by the US Army Air Corps. However, the Russians desperately needed a nimble ground attack plane. The massive 37mm cannon that fired through the Airacobra’s propeller hub was just the ticket. The Soviets gratefully received 4,773 of the little planes under Lend-Lease. The Heinkel He 111 was widely used by the Germans in a variety of roles throughout the Second World War. Image: NARA Lt. Devyatayev had a successful combat career. He flew some 180 combat missions during the war, downing a Stuka dive bomber as well as an Fw 190 in the process. However, in the summer of 1944, his luck ran out. Shot down near Lviv, Ukraine, Devyatayev was taken prisoner by the Germans. A…
