The Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo has been worsening. Right now, the virus is more concentrated in Congo’s eastern province of Ituri, which accounts for more than 90% of the cases. As cases reach 782, there have been 181 recorded deaths of the Bidibugyo strain of the Ebola virus, according to the Congolese Ministry of Health. NDTV reported that the number of cases in Congo is believed to be higher because the outbreak was confirmed on May 15th, weeks after it is suspected to have begun, and the contact tracing coverage rate is at 56%, a sharp decrease from last week. Tracking and tracing have been much more difficult with the current circulating strain. The latest Ebola outbreak is caused by the rare Bundibugyo virus, which has no approved vaccine or treatment, unlike the “Zaire virus,” which was responsible for most of Congo’s past 16 outbreaks of the disease. So far, 56 people have recovered, and the current fatality rate of the outbreak is 23%, the Ministry said. That’s much lower than most Ebola outbreaks, but more cases could be out there, as people still fear going to hospitals with symptoms. “People Are Hiding” During Ebola Outbreak, Making…

Secretary of the Navy Hung Cao on June 8 established the Department of the Navy Communication Strategy, aimed at combat not of the seas, but of information. “We are in a fight for the narrative,” Cao wrote. “Our adversaries compete not only with steel, but with coordinated disinformation designed to undermine our will, divide our alliances, and erode the confidence of the American people. We will not cede the information domain.”The purpose of the overarching communication strategy, according to Cao, is to streamline “enterprise-wide communication posture” in order to reinforce “an unwavering trust with the American people.”Further details regarding the communication strategy remain unclear. The secretary of the Navy’s announcement comes as tensions mount between U.S. media and the second Trump administration. In May, The New York Times sued the Defense Department in Federal District Court in Washington over the department’s policy requiring journalists to have an official escort at all times while visiting the Pentagon. The Times is accusing the Pentagon of violating the First Amendment. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth subsequently changed the policy on June 1, voiding the escort policy by declaring the Pentagon’s press office a classified space inaccessible to journalists. In his ALNAV message, Cao stressed that the…

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles! America’s nuclear renaissance will not be built in Washington alone. Just as the states that had the foresight to build today’s nuclear fleet enjoy its benefits, the states that rebuild our nuclear industrial base will reap the rewards of its resurgence. President Donald Trump understands this truth, which is why he took executive action last May to give states the lead in reinvigorating our nuclear industrial base.Since then, the Department of Energy has developed a clear framework focused on driving state-led efforts to reestablish the full nuclear fuel cycle at home and revitalize the American nuclear industry. The Nuclear Lifecycle Innovation Campus concept proposes state hubs that align local and federal resources to expand regional industrial capacity, drive economic growth and restore technological leadership in this critically important field. This state-led model builds upon America’s past success, when the nation once built a thriving, fully integrated national nuclear enterprise. At the height of America’s nuclear buildout in the 1960s and 1970s, reactors were rising from North Carolina to Arkansas while domestic enrichment in Kentucky and Ohio, fuel fabrication in Washington and South Carolina, and commercial reprocessing in New York supported a closed fuel cycle.US…

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles! Podcaster Joe Rogan called out California Gov. Gavin Newsom on Friday for criticizing independent journalist Nick Shirley for doing the work his government has failed to do.Shirley, a young YouTuber filming independent investigations, broke into the national spotlight after releasing a viral investigation in Minnesota alleging fraud in state-funded daycare programs. Recently, he has continued his work by alleging similar fraudulent business schemes in California.Newsom’s office, however, was not amused, and responded by mocking Shirley’s daycare fraud investigation by posting what appeared to be a satirical, AI-generated photo of a man carrying several cameras at a daycare and asking a teacher, “Hey, can I see your kids?””Did you see what the governor posted, what Newsom’s press office posted?” Rogan asked his guest on Friday’s episode of “The Joe Rogan Experience.” “They posted a photo of Nick Shirley, like a fake Nick Shirley, like a meme – like Nick Shirley peeking into windows.”NICK SHIRLEY SAYS DOXXERS ARE HAMPERING HIS INVESTIGATIONS, HAS CONCERNS ABOUT HIS OWN SECURITY Rogan went on to rhetorically address Newsom, saying, “Like, Hey, he’s doing your job. He’s uncovering fraud and what you’re doing is mocking him?”Comedian Mark Normand agreed,…

When it comes to home defense training, you have to train like you intend to fight. In 2013, I hunted with some American war fighters on the U.S. Army’s base in Hohenfels, Germany. That was an interesting experience—a story for another time—and it has nothing to do with home defense. However, while I was in Germany, I went to a Pond Training Academy. At that time, Pond was conducting some of the security at the gates to the Hohenfels Army base, and in the Pond Academy, they had a unique shooting range. That shooting range does have something to do with home defense. In the basement of the academy, they had a video range, where they would play video on the large movie screen and cadets could engage targets in the video. A unique light system marked their shots, and the video could be replayed to see where they hit. This was a very cool range experience, and I got to shoot on it with a rifle and with a handgun. With the rifle, I shot running boar targets, and with the handgun, I shot cartoons. (In Germany, it was against the law for non-security or law enforcement to shoot at humanoid targets.) The…

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles! We call it “Trumpism” for short, the collection of positions, policies and preferences embraced by the president of the United States. But does all this amount to a coherent philosophy that can be carried out by future Republicans once Donald Trump is no longer in office? And where does that leave conservatism? Trump never pretended to be a classic conservative, which deeply divided the movement. There are those who quietly abandoned their previous views and have backed virtually everything Trump does, from tariffs to deportations to the war in Iran.CONSERVATIVE COLUMNIST SAYS DONALD TRUMP HAS LOST THE COUNTRY. IT’S COMPLICATED. And there are those who renounced Trump from the start, who believe he betrayed conservatives – and who tend to have prime spots in cable commentary, so shows can boast they have Republican pundits (who happen to hate Trump). Some on the right bring a fierceness that eclipses the attacks by liberal critics. NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles! A top House Democrat is pushing back on calls for a probe into Rep. Jasmine Crockett, D-Texas, hiring a wanted fugitive as a security guard before he was fatally shot in a standoff with SWAT officers. “I don’t know if that’s the House’s place to investigate,” Rep. Pete Aguilar, D-Calif., told Fox News Digital in a recent interview. Diamon-Mazairre Robinson, 39, who used the alias “Mike King” while employed by Crockett, was shot and killed by Dallas SWAT officers earlier in March after a standoff in a hospital parking garage. Police were responding to an active warrant for him after allegedly impersonating law enforcement and recovered 11 firearms during the operation, some of which were stolen.”It depends if she was using campaign money or House resources, but that’s something for House Administration [Committee] to deal with if that’s the case,” Aguilar added.CROCKETT WARNS OF NATIONWIDE PROTESTS OVER ICE SHOOTING: ‘STATE-SANCTIONED EXECUTION’ Crockett’s office paid King at least $6,300 for security services in 2025, according to a Fox News Digital review of Crockett’s members representational allowance (MRA). NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles! The Senate confirmed Sen. Markwayne Mullin, R-Okla., as the ninth Homeland Security secretary, capping a sprint to replace embattled outgoing Secretary Kristi Noem.It also caps off a 13-year career in Congress that began in the House and saw Mullin score a seat in the Senate in 2021 where he became the de facto bridge between both chambers, helping to build trust between the House and Senate during last year’s push to pass the “big, beautiful bill.” Ahead of the vote he arrived flanked by his family, and was excited to cast his final vote on himself.  Mullin, who was picked by President Donald Trump earlier this month to lead the Department of Homeland Security, was confirmed on a largely party-line vote. Sens. John Fetterman, D-Pa., and Martin Heinrich, D-N.M., joined nearly every Republican to clinch his nomination.Heinrich said he bucked his party because he has seen that Mullin — who co-chairs the Senate Legislative Branch spending committee with him — “is not someone who can simply be bullied into changing his views.”MULLIN’S CONFIRMATION SURVIVES KEY TEST VOTE AS DHS REMAINS SHUT DOWN “And I look forward to having a secretary who doesn’t…

Editor’s Note: The author received a Springfield XD Mod.4 pistol on loan from the company for the purposes of writing this review. I’ve always appreciated the Springfield Armory XD series for what it is: a simple, reliable and accurate 9mm pistol. While the original may have more than two decades under its belt, I appreciate a gun with a solid reputation for performance. That’s what the XD handgun is known for: being a dependable, no-nonsense striker-fired pistol. The Springfield XD Mod.4 continues the legacy of a dependable striker-fired 9mm, blending familiar ergonomics with updated features for modern shooters. Image: Carson McDaniel With the new XD Mod.4, Springfield is clearly taking that familiar foundation and bringing it in line with what modern shooters expect — and all at an MSRP of just $399. On paper, it checks a lot of the right boxes: optics-ready capability, a 4” hammer-forged barrel, and a 16-round magazine with backward compatibility with existing full-size 9mm XD mags. But specs only tell part of the story. What really matters is how it feels in the hand and how it shoots. So, I spent some time with the XD Mod.4 to see exactly what it has to offer. Evolution…
