After the 2026 NBA Finals wrapped up a Knicks-led gentleman’s sweep of the San Antonio Spurs, much of the conversation has shifted to evaluating Victor Wembanyama after a self-destructive postseason debut. When the final buzzer sounded in Game 5, the 7-foot-4 French phenom skipped the traditional handshake line and headed straight for the locker room.It capped off a rough Finals from a PR standpoint. Earlier in the series, Wembanyama drew criticism for a dangerously hard foul on Brunson and was later caught on camera laughing in Mitchell Robinson’s direction during a heated moment. When the reality of the loss finally set in, Wembanyama chose not to face the Knicks on the court. His postgame comments did little to clear things up, as he largely sidestepped questions about the walk-off.CHARLES BARKLEY ‘ANNOYED’ WITH VICTOR WEMBANYAMA BEING GIVEN ‘FACE OF THE LEAGUE’ TITLEThe decision opened the door for one of the NBA’s most ironic critics: notorious enforcer Draymond Green. The same Draymond Green who has spent much of his career blurring the line between basketball and mixed martial arts is now handing out lessons on sportsmanship. It’s not so much Green’s lack of self-awareness that is astonishing; it’s that he actually has something to offer the…

Late last week, the San Francisco Giants hosted their “Pride Night,” with the team wearing hats with a rainbow-colored Giants logo.Several Giants pitchers, in a statement of their faith, wrote Bible verse designations on their hats. One, starting pitcher Landen Roupp, addressed his reasoning after the game, saying that the verse is about representing “God’s covenant.””It’s just about God’s covenant and a promise that he makes to us that, you know, his faithfulness and his mercy,” Roupp said to reporters. “That’s just kind of something I believe in, and I stand firm in that, and I’m thankful we live in a country where, you know, we have the freedom to believe what we want … and express what we want.”There’s no hate at all. It’s just what I stand for, and what I stand in. I believe in God,” he added. DODGERS PITCHER CLAYTON KERSHAW DISPLAYS BIBLE PASSAGE ON HAT DURING PRIDE NIGHTNaturally, that public expression of Christian faith did not go over well with left-wing sportswriters who criticized Roupp and his teammates. Well, those critics will be overjoyed to hear that Major League Baseball has now officially stepped in.Per The Athletic, an MLB official has now “warned” those players…

Landing exactly in the middle of the month, the June Buck of the Month is here. It’s a classy, dressy version of the discontinued Buck 532 Bucklock. Sometimes knife names just confuse us, but we have to hand it to Buck when it comes to the Bucklock – they accomplished a fine piece of wordplay here. Because, you see, it is a folding knife with a back lock, and hey, doesn’t “Buck” sound a little bit like “back?” Fantastic. Compared to the omnipresent 110, the Bucklock is smaller, with a 3-inch drop point blade, thinner, and actually a bit more traditional-feeling than its sibling, even with the locking component. The spine with filework on display In this limited edition return, we have S35VN steel implemented, so the edge will wear lightly through the daily cutting chores a knife of this size and shape would likely do. The last time we saw the 532 was when it cropped up in Buck’s also-limited-but-less-limited-than-the-BotM Legacy Collection; in that lineup it was made from 154CM, another rock solid EDC choice – although we think it’s safe to say S35VN is an objective upgrade. There’s no doubt, however, that the handle is the most striking…

The Navy admiral tapped as the new head of U.S. nuclear forces on Thursday endorsed a finding by the Energy Department and Pentagon that the U.S. nuclear arsenal is safe and reliable and there is no need to conduct nuclear warhead tests.Admiral Richard Correll’s comment comes as officials are assessing how to implement a directive issued in October by President Donald Trump to conduct nuclear weapons tests.Correll, testifying at a Senate Armed Services Committee hearing on his confirmation as U.S. Strategic Command chief, was asked if he saw a military need for the U.S. to conduct nuclear warhead tests, the last of which took place in 1992.Noting that the Energy Department and Pentagon annually certify the safety and reliability of the U.S. nuclear arsenal, Correll expressed support for the most recent certification, which was issued for 2025-2026.The departments “indicated we have the capabilities and sufficient testing to satisfy ourselves on the reliability and efficacy of our nuclear warheads,” said Correll. “But we monitor that very closely and I will continue to provide my best military advice.” Read the full article here

Maximizing accuracy and performance seems to be a white whale we all chase. We want the shortest package with a minimal footprint to reach out to 500 and beyond with ease. But we still want to run the rifle fast at closer targets. For this scenario, the low power variable optic (LPVO) has been a go to for military, law enforcement and competitive end users alike. But there have been none that do everything extremely well like clarity, usable reticle and a daylight-bright red dot. Well, Vortex took on the challenge. With a new contract optic on the table, the United Kingdom wanted a modern and compact LPVO that could meet very stringent specifications on size, weight and magnification. The author shoots his Springfield Armory SAINT Victor with a mounted Vortex AMG 1-10X LPVO from a prone shooting position. This was not an industry-standard design nor something normal partners in the industry could produce while meeting a set budget for the project. I was able to travel to Vortex headquarters in Wisconsin recently and personally see how these optics are made and tested. But more on that and the specifics in a little bit. An Operator’s Optic The design requirements…

Iran has rejected Donald Trump’s initial ceasefire agreement, saying that the war will end when they decide to end it and on their terms. The U.S. offered a ceasefire proposal on Wednesday, and Iran has already countered it. While Iran has said it isn’t really in talks with the U.S., it has passed along the agreement.  Iran’s foreign minister, Abbas Araghchi, later said the proposals had been “passed on to the country’s senior authorities” but Iran had “no intention of negotiating for now,” accoridng to a report by The Guardian.  Iranian state TV quoted an anonymous official as saying Tehran had rejected the plan it had received via Pakistan, saying it would “end the war when it decides to do so and when its own conditions are met”, and until then would continue fighting across the region. –The Guardian. Since the U.S started the war, Iran has put its foot down, declaring itself to have the upper hand; it just might. The U.S. is low on supplies, weapons, and ammunition after funding Ukraine’s war for so long, and is seeking a $200 billion package to help fund its continued fighting. This article was originally published by Connor O’Keeffe at The Mises Institute.  When Trump ordered the first wave of strikes in this ongoing war with Iran last month, he did so while his administration was engaged in active negotiations with the Iranian government. That echoed the situation last June when Israel launched a bombing campaign days after Trump scheduled new talks with Iran—a move Trump later claimed was a deliberate deception to help make the Israeli strikes more effective. This time around, in that first wave of strikes on February 28th, American cruise missiles targeted and destroyed a building that ended up being a girls’ school, killing more than 168 young children who had just started their day of classes. In the weeks since, the specific toll of the war on the Iranian people has been obscured by a thick fog of war and a nationwide internet blackout. But the initial reports and anecdotes that have managed to slip through suggest that the civilian death toll from the intense bombing campaigns on and around dense residential areas has been extensive. Then, last Saturday night, Trump announced that if Iran did not “fully open” the Strait of Hormuz within 48 hours, the US would begin targeting and destroying Iran’s…
