NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles! President Trump stood before Congress in 2019 and said, “Legal immigrants enrich our nation and strengthen our society in countless ways. I want people to come into our country in the largest numbers ever, but they have to come in legally.” In 2024, as he ran for reelection, he repeated the point: “We need people.”The president was right. But since Trump reentered office, his administration has cut legal immigration dramatically. Illegal immigration is down, too, but not as much. All told, the administration has cut legal immigration twice as much as it has cut illegal immigration. Indeed, my report for the Cato Institute, which President Trump cited, shows the immigration decline has come mainly from fewer legal immigrants. The president previously promised to prioritize Christian refugees, saying “we are going to help them.” But he has not. In 2024, most refugees vetted abroad and admitted legally to the U.S. were Christians, yet he cut the refugee program from 125,000 to 7,500. It now admits only a small number of South Africans. Smith & Wesson has just upgraded its classic defensive snubby with the Bodyguard 38 2.0.Snub-nose Smith & Wesson revolvers have been a staple of self-defense for a very long time, and one of the go-to models is the Bodyguard 38. While the last incarnation of this revolver has been discontinued, Smith just gave it a facelift and replaced it with the new Bodyguard 38 2.0.Firstly, let’s talk about what’s stayed the same. It’s still a 5-shot, double-action only .38 Special +P snub-nose revolver. It still has a 1.875-inch stainless steel barrel, and it still features an aluminum alloy upper frame and polymer grip module to keep the weight at a minimum. The base model weighs a scant 14.2 ounces unloaded. Also, it still has the neat center-mounted ambidextrous cylinder release. The new features of the Bodyguard 38 2.0 may sound insignificant, but they should make a noticeable difference when shooting it. Namely, the sights have been improved. Now, instead of a simple black front post and a rear gutter sight, the 2.0 has a bright orange dot front sight and a U-notch rear sight integrated into the gutter. Secondly, it features an enhanced boot-style grip that should go a long way…

The U.S. Air Force concluded A-10 Thunderbolt II depot-level maintenance at Ogden Air Logistics Complex with a “Hawg Out” ceremony Feb. 12 at Hill Air Force Base, Utah, service officials announced Wednesday. The final Warthog to complete depot work at the facility, tail number 78-0655, is scheduled to depart Hill by the end of February, prompting the deactivation of the 571st Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, according to an Air Force Life Cycle Management Center release.Ogden ALC has served as the primary depot for A-10 structural repairs, wing replacements and major overhauls since 1998. At its peak, the 571st AMXS employed hundreds of maintainers who performed corrosion prevention, rewinging and other heavy maintenance to keep the close air support platform operational during deployments in Iraq and Afghanistan, and, most recently, Operation Inherent Resolve and regional deterrence in the Middle East. The squadron’s expertise will now shift to sustainment missions on the F-35A Lightning II, F-16 Fighting Falcon and C-130 Hercules, the release noted.Brig. Gen. G. This article was originally published by William L. Anderson at The Mises Institute. A recent Wall Street Journal article outlined yet another attempt by the U.S. Government to bring down Cuba’s socialist government, a process that has been going on without much success for the past 65 years. Once upon a time, the U.S. policy toward Cuba was part of the greater Cold War, and it was front and center in the national news cycle. (Many of us still remember the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis, wondering if we were about to face all-out nuclear war.) When Fidel Castro’s Cuban revolutionaries took over Cuba’s government in early 1959, ousting the U.S.-backed president Fulgencio Batista, many in this country cheered. Batista, after all, was seen as a corrupt dictator, and Castro was popular with many Americans who had high hopes that he would do a better job of governing Cuba. After Castro, however, seized and nationalized U.S. businesses, declared Cuba to be communist, and turned toward the Soviet Union for his support, the U.S. government has sought to overthrow him. Unfortunately, the Trump administration’s latest efforts are making life almost unbearable for Cubans, who already are among the poorest people in the Western Hemisphere. (Before Castro’s revolution, Cuba…

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles! Team USA women’s figure skater Alysa Liu won gold in the women’s free skate final on Thursday, ending a 20-year drought for American women to medal in the event, and a 24-year drought to win gold. The last American woman to win a singles figure skating medal at the Olympics was Sasha Cohen in the 2006 Turin Games, and the last American woman to win a gold medal in singles figure skating was Sarah Hughes, who pulled off that accomplishment in 2002 when the Winter Games were held in Salt Lake City. She landed all her jumps and smiled throughout, and exploded into a demonstrative celebration after she finished. She was even heard yelling, “that’s what I’m f—ing talking about!’ and “holy s—!” while celebrating with her team. Liu finished with 226.79 total score, 150.20 free skate score, 76.59 short program score. It was her season-best in free skate score. But she still had to watch Japanese rivals Kaori Sakamoto and Ami Nakai go after her. Sakamoto was only good enough to come up just behind Liu. Nakai appeared to come much closer, as there was a noticeable tension in the crowd as judges reviewed Nakai’s…
We’ve read that there were often rats aboard ships, but evidently there were mice too…giant mice. GiantMouse is back with the Iona Sailor, a folder inspired by some of the design priorities of maritime cutting tools. All GiantMouse knives have a story behind them – usually a story about a bar (they are a team after our own heart). But the Iona is a bit different, taking its design cues from sailor’s knives – cutting tools whose owners were sometimes forced to break the tip off of, in order to make mutinous actions more difficult. Beyond this interesting “safety” feature, a sailor used his knife for lots of cutting, through lots of trying material. The deep carry wire clip is a GM staple This is the concept behind the Iona, and GiantMouse have executed it to their usual high level of performance and polish. The blade is a 2.9-inch modified sheepsfoot, with the usual low tip of that profile but a lot more belly. S90V blade steel gives that belly the bite it needs, not to mention the longevity; when it comes to working with and through tough materials, S90V is still near the top of the pile. The handle…
United States ruler Donald Trump is building an “armada” in the Middle East, as warhawk Senator Lindsey Graham meets with the Emirati president. The American military presence in the region in decades continues to growas the rulers continue with their war rhetoric. The unprecedented air and naval force sent by Trump to the Persian Gulf was sent to coerce Iran into submission to the U.S., but Tehran isn’t blinking, and Trump may be backing himself into a situation where war with Iran may be unavoidable. Back in June, the U.S. attacked Iran during the 12-day war, in order to stop the nuclear program that Tehran continues to insist is peaceful and it won’t be giving up any missiles. The US is seeking a complete halt to Iran’s uranium enrichment and the dismantlement of its ballistic missile program, while Iran has said that it is willing to lower the amount of nuclear enrichment it is conducting. This concession does not seem to be good enough for the U.S., however. Over 200 Israeli Warplanes Used Against Iran, Trump Warns ‘More Brutal’ Attacks Coming Without Nuclear Deal The buildup is one of Trump’s core strategies for Iran. He is attempting to press the…

It was the first goal the Americans allowed in the tournmanent ending a stretch of three hours, 52 minutes, and seven seconds of shutout hockey. The Canadians got on the power play late in the third while still keeping the Americans scoreless, but the U.S. was able to kill it off with just over four minutes to go. With the puck in Canada’s zone and about 2:30 to go, the Americans pulled their goalie and the risk proved worthy, as captain Hilary Knight deflected a wrister from the top of the zone to tie the game and eventually force overtime.
