I’m not sure why I do these things to myself, but I decided to go head-to-head with ChatGPT in a mock draft competition. I recently released my final mock draft, and then I asked ChatGPT to predict the entire first round. Below, you will see where we are the same and where we are different. Please don’t tell my bosses about this because if AI smokes me in the NFL Draft, they might realize that I’m not necessary. Pray for me, everyone.OUTKICK MOCK DRAFT 3.0: COWBOYS MAKE BIG SPLASH, JETS SHORE UP SHAKY DEFENSEOne quick note before we begin: I projected a few trades, while ChatGPT mostly kept the current order intact (even though I didn’t explicitly tell it not to make trades), so some of our differences are about the shape of the board as much as the players themselves. Here we go!  No. 1 – Las Vegas RaidersGPT’s pick: Fernando Mendoza, QB, IndianaDan’s pick: Fernando Mendoza, QB, IndianaGPT: Mendoza felt like the cleanest blend of quarterback need, consensus, and franchise-quarterback upside at No. 1.Dan: No need for explanation, Mendoza is obviously going No. 1 overall. No. 2 – New York JetsGPT’s pick: Arvell Reese, LB/EDGE, Ohio StateDan’s pick: David Bailey,…

Mendoza Mania has arrived in the NFL.The projected No. 1 overall pick in this year’s draft, Fernando Mendoza brings one of football’s most unexpected stories to the pros.Legendary football agent Leigh Steinberg, who has represented an NFL-record eight first overall draft picks, believes what sets Mendoza apart from the other hyped prospects is his words.”The way he relates to people,” Steinberg said was the most unique part about Mendoza, in an interview with Fox News Digital.”He seems to have a really nice touch in dealing with teammates. It seems to be a natural leader. He relates well in interviews. He relates well in everything. And so, the job of a franchise quarterback is to represent the franchise, and he becomes the most visible face of a franchise. And you know, he’s handsome. He speaks well, and I think he’s sort of an ideal representative or spokesman for the team.”How did a kid from Florida who know one saw coming become a Heisman Trophy winner, national champion, and the NFL’s next big thing?Mendoza’s grandparents fled communist CubaThe reason Fernando Mendoza is in the U.S. and making his mark on football history is because…

Senate Republicans pushed their immigration funding plan forward early Thursday, adopting a budget blueprint after an all-night vote series that sets up billions for ICE and Border Patrol while sidelining Democrats.Senate Republicans adopted their budget resolution, which tees up funding for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Border Patrol, and effectively cuts congressional Democrats out of the process entirely. It’s the first major step toward unlocking the budget reconciliation process, which Republicans are diving into once again after Democrats refused to fund ICE and Customs and Border Protection (CBP) without stringent reforms.Despite Republicans largely being on the same page on the approach, Sens. This article was originally published by William L. Anderson at The Mises Institute.  The Sierra Nevada of California is a rugged and beautiful mountain range, and it is located only about an hour east of my home in Roseville. We can see them on clear days, and many times we have driven east to go snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, or take in the scenery around Lake Tahoe. They are also something else: dangerous. Every year people die in those mountains by falling off cliffs, drowning, or even running into trees while skiing at the numerous resorts in the Sierra. People also succumb to avalanches, which are common in the mountains of the American West. Last week, an avalanche killed nine backcountry skiers in the Sierras who had made the trip to engage in “storm skiing,” making it one of the worst such accidents in US history. We often can see the mountain, Castle Peak, where they died, from elevated places in our town. It doesn’t look deadly from our vantage point far away, but last week it was a killer. A couple of days after the skiers were killed, Wes—an acquaintance of mine—was driving home on I-40 in Knoxville. On weekday afternoons,…

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles! The New Hampshire man accused of opening fire inside a country club last year, killing one person, reportedly confessed to the shooting, telling investigators he aimed to kill the rich. Hunter West Nadeau, 24, told police he carried out the shooting at a steakhouse located at the Sky Meadow Club in Nashua in an effort to retaliate against the rich because “they were not helping the poor,” according to a police affidavit obtained by the Boston Globe. The affidavit reportedly pointed to surveillance video showing Nadeau entering the club’s main entrance around 7:17 p.m. on Sept. 20, wearing a black hoodie and carrying a green backpack. Nadeau then allegedly walked to PRIME steakhouse, put on a face mask and brandished a gun, firing five shots at employee Steve Burtman, according to the affidavit. Burtman, who was reportedly stationed at the front desk, was struck in the face, the outlet reported. He survived his injuries. Surveillance footage then reportedly shows Nadeau entering the restaurant and firing five more shots toward numerous patrons. Nadeau allegedly struck and killed 59-year-old Robert Steven DeCesare, who was dining with his wife and daughter. A third patron was also injured as he allegedly…

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth gave Anthropic an ultimatum this week: Open its artificial intelligence technology for unrestricted military use by Friday, or risk losing its government contract.Defense officials in the Trump administration also warned they could designate Anthropic, which makes the AI chatbot Claude, as a supply chain risk — or invoke a Cold War-era law called the Defense Production Act to give the military more sweeping authority to use its products, even if the company doesn’t approve. Some experts say that using the law this way would be unprecedented, and could bring future legal challenges. The government’s efforts to essentially force Anthropic’s hand also underscore a wider, contentious debate over AI’s role in national security. Here’s what we know. What is the Defense Production Act?The Defense Production Act gives the federal government broad authority to direct private companies to meet the needs of national defense. The act was signed by President Harry S. Truman in 1950, amid concerns about supplies and equipment during the Korean War. But over its now decades-long history, the law’s powers have been invoked not only in times of war but also for domestic emergency preparedness as well as recovery from terrorist attacks and natural disasters. One of the act’s…

Kamikaze drones and armored-piercing drones popularly known as “tank killers” are coming to the U.S. Army in bulk thanks to a new $186 million delivery order with AeroVironment Inc. Announced today, the autonomous systems manufacturer will provide two types of its Switchblade family of loitering munitions to the Army, including the Switchblade 600 Block 2 and the Switchblade 300 Block 20 variants. Loitering munitions are Unmanned Aircraft Systems that represent a blend of FPV drones and guided missiles. Known as “kamikaze” or one-way attack drones, they can seek targets and hover for long periods before zeroing in and exploding on command. The 600 Block 2 was developed by AV in collaboration with U.S. Special Operations Command and is designed for use in a variety of remote and hostile environments. It can be used at sea and features advanced Artificial Intelligence capabilities that allow it to detect and lock on targets faster. Its sister system, the 300 Block 2, is a “tank killer” loitering munition that can seek targets at extended ranges beyond line of sight. According to AV, the Army has ordered it equipped with an Explosively Formed Penetrator payload for the first time — a warhead that packs extra…

ZeroTech’s compact Thrive HD 1-4 Prism might just be the best bargain of the year for an everyday carbine optic.Think of it as a variable-power ACOG. Taking up about as much space as a TA31, ZeroTech’s newest model gives users a true 1x bottom end, with just enough magnification to consistently hit torso-sized targets out to 600 yards in field conditions. Best of all, it does it at a very affordable price.Sitting atop this well-used AR, the Thrive HD 1-4 seems right at home as a jack-of-all-trades optic.Optics are one of the few areas of the gun space where we’ve seen steady, consistent improvements in the past couple of decades, to the point where if you showed someone from the mid aughties what they could have for their (Biden-flation adjusted) money, they’d shake their head in disbelief. LPVOs are prevalent on general-purpose carbines, and for lots of good reasons—there’s a model for every budget, and with 10x magnification now available on Chinese-made scopes for less than a grand, you’d be entirely justified by asking why make the seemingly retrograde step of choosing a 1-4 instead.ZeroTech Thrive HD 1-4×24 Prism SpecsLength: 6 inchesWeight: 19 ouncesClick Value: 0.5 MOAField of View: 131…

North Korea has vowed to further its nuclear buildup, promising to increase its nuclear arsenal.  Pyongyang’s ruler Kim Jong-un has outlined the strategy during a weeklong congress of the ruling Workers’ Party of Korea. He declared North Korea’s nuclear-armed status “irreversible and permanent.” Kim said he will continue to add to this nuclear arsenal “as long as nuclear weapons exist on the earth.” He added that as long as the country is threatened by “US imperialists and their followers,” he will seek the weapons, according to state media reported on Thursday, as reported by RT.  “We have a long-term plan to strengthen the national nuclear force on an annual basis in the future and will concentrate on increasing the number of nuclear weapons and expanding the means and space for nuclear operation,” Kim said. Kim also said that North Korea would “deliver terrible retaliatory attacks to any forces” infringing on North Korea. Pyongyang portrays its nuclear program, which has made it a target of tough UN sanctions, as a deterrent against US-backed South Korea. For decades since the Korean War, both Koreas viewed each other as illegitimate regimes occupying part of a unified country. Pyongyang shifted its policy in 2024,…
