Just hours after United States President Donald Trump claimed that a deal with Iran is close, Israel once again attacked Lebanon. The military assault in Lebanon consisted of striking the southern city of Tyre and issuing an evacuation warning that for the first time included the port’s Christian quarter. “We’re in the final throes of what will be a very, very good deal,” Trump said early Tuesday of the ongoing negotiations to end the war that the US and Israel began in late February. The attacks on Lebanon risked renewed fighting with Tehran, a day after exchanges that had threatened a return to all-out war. The US military, meanwhile, said it had used an unmanned boat to rescue two soldiers whose helicopter went down near the flashpoint Strait of Hormuz. The Truth About What Is Really Going On In The Strait Of Hormuz Trump said that there are no “sticking points” in negotiations with Iran, accoridng to a report by NBC News.  “I think we’re very close to having a very, very good, strong, powerful deal,” he said, adding that an agreement would be preferable to and “actually stronger than doing the bombing.” Trump has stated, almost on repeat, that the…

Facing a six-game losing streak, and the GOP’s pending acquisition of a huge bat for the middle of its lineup, tension is in the air for the Democrats entering this week’s Congressional Baseball Game at Nationals Park.Texas Rangers and New York Yankees great Mark Teixeira (R-Texas), who is 58th on MLB’s all-time home run leaderboard with 409 dingers, is expected to win a seat in Congress with ease in November, which would then allow him to assume a spot on the GOP roster. Even with Wednesday’s (7 p.m. ET; Fox Nation) game looming, the Dems are already scheming on how they’ll deal with Tex.”We’re just going to walk him every time we have an opportunity,” Sen. Ruben Gallego (D-Ariz.) told The Hill. The U.S. Marine Corps is looking for 360-degree camera systems to fit on the LAV-25 and other armored vehicles. The goal is to allow crews to operate their vehicles – and enjoy full situational awareness – even while buttoned up with the hatches closed. The service is looking for fully integrated, turnkey systems that provide “complete situational awareness” and enable crews to operate the vehicle from within the hull with all hatches and doors closed on land, according to the Request For Information published by the Program Manager Light Armored Vehicles. The deadline is June 18.PM LAV envisions a system with a minimum of four cameras and a maximum of 10 that merge into a single video stream to provide a combined 360-degree view. The system should include infrared or thermal imaging for low-light conditions, a zoom feature, high-resolution video, such as 1080p or 4K, and accurate capture of colors “for maneuvering, local security, and identification of personnel, obstructions, and obstacles.”While the RFI specifically describes the project as a “survivability upgrade [that] is intended to significantly enhance LAV platform,” it also mentions amphibious platforms like the Amphibious Combat Vehicle, as well as the Advanced Reconnaissance Vehicle. Fifty years ago, a U.S. Air Force colonel named John Boyd offered a profound insight into why battles are won or lost. His famous Observe, Orient, Decide, Act — or OODA — Loop described the mental cycle by which combatants, from fighter pilots to generals, assess and react to a constantly changing situation. Those with a faster OODA Loop could exploit opportunities while their befuddled opponents struggled to understand what was going on. Germany crushed France in 1940 largely because of a sluggish French command system that was always one OODA step behind the swift panzer divisions. More recently, OODA might explain why tactically rigid Russian tank columns were decimated by outnumbered but agile Ukrainian troops in 2022. Had the Soviets invaded Western Europe during the Cold War, NATO would have relied on OODA — plus airpower and more advanced weapons technology — to stop the Soviet steamroller. To the troops watching waves of Soviet tanks roll into the Fulda Gap or the North German Plain, OODA would have been just a buzzword. But NATO needed every advantage it could get to compensate for superior Soviet numbers and firepower. Flashpoint Campaigns: Cold War, published by Matrix Games, is a computer…

The North Atlantic Treaty Organization has launched an experimental Arctic drone task force expanding its military presence in the region. The United States-led bloc has consistently cited an alleged Russian threat to justify its Arctic buildup. According to a report by RT, this latest NATO initiative was unveiled over the weekend as the research vessel Alliance departed La Spezia, Italy, launching Task Force X-Arctic (TFX-Arctic). The experimental unit is set to operate through 2026 and into next year, with the stated aim of demonstrating how uncrewed systems can provide persistent multi-domain situational awareness across the North Atlantic, the Arctic, and the High North. The deployment builds on experience gained from a similar task force launched in the Baltic Sea last year. NATO is using Russia as the scapegoat for this drone expansion in the Arctic. The bloc claims that the Russian threat is enough justification. Moscow has rejected the claims that it’s posing a threat to NATO, arguing that the region’s militarization has been driven by NATO’s own actions and pledging to respond accordingly to activity in the Arctic, where Russia controls more than half of the coastline. “Task Force X-Arctic is about testing and integrating new technology in one of…

The Pentagon recently named the winners of the Lethality Prize Challenge in the Drone Dominance program, a $1.1 billion effort to expand domestic drone production and reduce the cost of commercial drones for military use.The Defense Innovation Unit announced in a LinkedIn post last month that the winners — Bravo Ordnance, Kela Technologies, Kraken Kinetics, Mountain Horse Solutions and Northrop Grumman — developed “cost-effective, mass-producible, and easily integrated lethal payloads for small drones.”According to the program’s Industry Day presentation, military officials reviewed submissions from 17 vendors. Evaluators examined both the payloads themselves and how they interfaced with various Electronic Safe and Arm Devices, or ESADs, as well as their compatibility with drones being considered in the program’s broader competition.Although the cash prize was just $10,000 — a modest sum compared to the scale of the Pentagon’s investment — the selected designs will be presented to companies participating in the program as “preferred munitions” for one-way attack drones.Northrop Grumman’s winning design, dubbed the Common UAS Payload, was built to require “no redesigns” and is “ready to integrate and deploy immediately,” according to a statement from Tanya Santers, the company’s director of fuzes and warheads. The company added that it has invested more…

I recently heard someone say that handguns have no place in military combat. History shows us otherwise. For the tanker, artilleryman, radio operator or medic whose hands are too busy at designated tasks to hold a rifle, the pistol makes enormous sense. Behind the lines when unpleasant surprises come, the handgun is just as much an emergency rescue tool as an armed citizen’s carry gun in civilian society. Medal of Honor recipient Alvin York single-handedly killed or captured a reported 132 German soldiers with his rifle as well as his 1911 .45 pistol. Image: NARA My older daughter owns a .38 Special revolver bought from the heirs of a Navy cook who took it with him to the Pacific in World War II and used it to kill two Japanese sappers who had attacked the cook’s base camp. We’ll look here at the single service handgun that served America’s military longest — the 1911/1911A1 .45. No American fighting man ever earned more respect than Audie Murphy, the Medal of Honor winner and most highly decorated soldier of WWII. In his autobiography “To Hell and Back,” here’s what he had to say about his issue .45 auto, speaking of a time behind…

The media is reporting on the “good news” about the Ebola outbreak this week. The first piece of good news is that three new vaccine candidates are being “fast-tracked” to create one that will work well in a short amount of time. Authorities also said that they have downgraded both the confirmed number of cases and deaths in the region affected, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), as the second piece of “good news.” First, we heard there’s new funding of up to US$62 million to fast-track the development of vaccine candidates against the type of virus circulating in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and neighboring Uganda. As of June 2nd local time, DRC health authorities reported 344 confirmed cases, including 60 confirmed related deaths. Uganda has reported 15 confirmed cases, including one death. Previously, suspected cases in the region were more than 1,000. –Science Alert There are currently only two approved Ebola vaccines. One is Ervebo, the other Zabdeno/Mvabea. However, neither is effective against the Bundibugyo strain of Ebola that’s circulating in Africa. Different types of Ebola viruses have different surface proteins that the vaccine targets. This means existing vaccines against the Zaire virus aren’t effective enough to be used against the Bundibugyo virus. The outbreak of…

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles! Landon Donovan is the reason why so many people in the United States are soccer fans.In the 2010 World Cup, Donovan scored a last-minute goal against Algeria, giving the Stars and Stripes a victory in their group and bringing a country together.”That kind of moment, it changed my life forever,” Donovan told Fox News Digital in a recent interview. “I mean, there is not a day that I’m at an appearance or doing something that someone doesn’t come up and say something about that. And honestly, the thing I get more than any is, ‘I became a soccer fan that day watching that game,’ which gives me chills because that is what we’re trying to do. “Since I was 16 years old as a young professional, we were not only players in this country, we had to be ambassadors because nobody was paying attention then. So we were trying to grow the sport all the time. When one literal 122nd-minute moment of me kicking a ball into the net exponentially expedites that process, it’s amazing because you’ve been working so hard. I did 10 years of appearances and media and playing and…

Army mortar teams have replaced 20-year-old software used to calculate firing data and ballistics with a new application designed for smartphones and tablets. In a press release, the Army said the Mortar App was approved for release to all Army mortar units in March 2026 following roughly three years of testing and six years of development.Julia Gustafson, a computer engineer at the Army Combat Capabilities Development Command Armaments Center and the app’s project lead, described it as “something modern, user-friendly and responsive.”According to Gustafson, soldiers from the 82nd Airborne Division were able to use the app effectively with minimal training. The Army said the software retained the workflow of the legacy system, making the transition intuitive for experienced mortar crews.Unlike the previous systems, the Mortar App runs on Android devices, allowing soldiers to download it onto smartphones and tablets instead of relying on laptops. The Army’s existing tools — the Mortar Fire Control Software and the Lightweight Handheld Mortar Ballistics Computer — entered service in 2003 and 2004, respectively.Gustafson said the new application can also be updated more easily than its predecessors. After its initial release in 2023, the Army continued testing and refining the software, which is now in its fourth…

Researchers say there’s no better way to get your Tuesday morning started in June than settling in for another edition of Screencaps where we check in with the 1A or 1B best pitcher of this generation, Paul Skenes, to see what he’s up to off the field. *Ohtani has to be in the best pitcher discussion. Yes, I’m aware that Shohei is 31.I don’t care if Paul and Livvy Dunne pulled off this visit to a local Pittsburgh baseball field as part of some brand campaign or just for some great press, this is how it’s done. You know what I love more than anything about the boys surrounding Skenes for autographs? They’re not being coached by scumbag parents like at ballparks where the dads pawn off their kids to stand along a rail in order for dad to add to HIS collection. You know what I’m talking about. Autograph hound dads are the worst. In this case, it appears to be calm. The kids are talking shop with a baseball hero like it’s the 1950s in Pittsburgh. This is the America I love. And that’s why Livvy is a complete emotional mess. She feels the America 250 emotions. She…

Editor’s note: This is a developing story. Two U.S. Army soldiers were rescued Monday after their AH-64 Apache helicopter went down near the coast of Oman, U.S. Central Command said. The crew was rescued by American forces within two hours, at 7:33 p.m. Eastern Time, according to the release. Both are in stable condition. ABC News reported on Tuesday that the crew members were rescued by an “unmanned surface vessel,” a detail that has not been publicly confirmed by Central Command. Military Times has reached out to the command for comment. Eve Sampson is a reporter and former Army officer. This article was originally published by Zoey Sky at Natural News.  A major new Pew Research Center poll shows that in 32 out of 36 countries surveyed, the majority of people now view Israel unfavorably. On average, 67% of adults across these nations hold negative opinions, with only 25% having a positive view. This marks a sharp and historic decline in Israel’s global reputation. The most intense negative feelings come from countries like Turkey (97% unfavorable), Pakistan, Malaysia, and Indonesia. But the shift is also dramatic in Western nations that have long been Israel’s closest allies. For example, unfavorable views rose to 60% in the U.S., 69% in the U.K., and 79% in Australia, showing that support is eroding even among traditional friends. The ongoing war with Iran, which began in late February and disrupted global oil supplies, is seen as a major tipping point. Combined with Israel’s military campaign in Gaza—which has led to at least 73,000 Palestinian deaths and the destruction of 81% of buildings in the area—the violence has fueled international anger and condemnation. A person’s political ideology heavily influences their opinion of Israel. In the United States, the gap is huge: 83% of liberals hold unfavorable…
